Its fine. From the perspective of how actually amazing any smartphone is considering technology only a few decades ago this thing is fine. Its totally fine. Relative to other phones this thing isnt very good. Its show, buggy, unresponsive. It has a mediocre camera. It doesnt have a home button, physical or capacitive, but relies on a cumbersome gesture system which partially works. Sometimes you want to go to your home screen but it cycles through your apps or activates the Google assistant. Its a good idea but it doesnt work right. The biggest problem and a real deal breaker is that its poorly optimized - I cant get many apps to work properly. Audible is completely broken. Many games dont work at all. Some basic shopping apps dont work. Ive had knockoff mobile devices that didnt give me trouble like this. I cant even use the YouTube app. I have to use a low end browser and view videos on the mobile site... Otherwise the device works fine for basic uses and since I really just use it for work its adequate. Good battery life, too. The device looks nice and feels high end. Its not and Id probably something else in the future. TL;DR: its an adequate device for basic purposes. Has major optimization issues which make a lot of apps not work. Looks pretty. Good battery life.

Had the phone for about a week now.... And already I cant stand it. And Im not a picky phone user. If it makes calls and I can watch my shows on it, and look up stuff in good, but this phone is so aggravating. First thing, it takes 6 minutes and 42 seconds to turn on. Yes I timed it. That may not seem long, but trust me, waiting nearly 7 minutes for your phone to turn on is far too long. Then, at random my Google chrome, and several other apps will not respond and Ill have to turn the phone off and wait 7 minutes again to turn it back on top get the app to work. And yes Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the apps. Still happens. But the worst thing is when Google chrome quits responding. The phone will lock up and I cant do anything, then it will turn itself off or I will turn it off, then when turning itself back on it says hello moto the goes through the 7 minute process, but it will never turn on. It just says hello moto loads for 7 minutes, flashing colors around the moto logo, then starts all over hello moto again, then 7 minute load screen, then hello moto again and again until either the battery dies or sometimes I can hold the power button down for an eternity and it will finally power down, but theres no guarantee it wont happen again on start up. This problem only happens when chrome locks up, which is random and often. Im done. Goodbye moto

Generally a good phone, but not built to last much past the 1-year warranty. One of the volume buttons broke and got stuck, rendering the phone useless. Will not boot up because of the button. Motorola wants $150 to repair it. Ridiculous.

We were looking for an inexpensive phone for my daughter - this totally fit the bill. Fast, lots of storage, and the battery lasts through plenty of usage. A+

This is not one of Motorolas better devices. The first issue is no NFC chip set. This is my fault for not doing better research but it would figure this would be standard for most phones today. So without this chip no Google Pay or anything like that. The battery life is no where that Motorola claims it to be. It says 2 days on a single charge. Not even a full day of letting your phone sit idle. If you use it maybe half a day. Also the phone will randomly shut off for no reason. Not a restart but complete shut down. The upside of this phone is the calls are clear with few drops and the camera is fantastic. I really like the macro view. Not the worst phone on the market but definitely not one of the best.

Pleasantly surprised by the overall utility of this phone. The compromises Moto made to deliver this price point are not very noticeable. The screen is nice and sharp, memory is sufficient for most apps and games, cameras are good, processor is speedy, no excessive bloatware taking up memory, etc. make the Moto G Fast a capable phone. The only real drawbacks are the mono speaker, and the position of the on/off switch(which naturally fits under one of my fingers), neither of which is a deal breaker. If youre looking for an affordable, all-around phone this is it! And it works perfectly with Mint mobile.

The only thing the iPhone has that’s better than this phone is camera and processor, and I really mean that. Everything else on the Moto g fast is better than the iPhone and this phone is only $170. Apple charges you $1,000 for something that doesn’t give you nearly as much flexibility as this phone. This Moto phone has a headphone jack, a karate chop gesture flashlight and it works all the time unlike iPhone, a twist for quick camera, and a fingerprint scanner conveniently on the back. The colors pop and the display is nice on the eyes which is a big upgrade from the Moto g7. The do not disturb button actually blocks pop up notifications making the whole point of do not disturb useful, unlike iPhone. The camera is not as good as the g7 and definitely won’t compete with the flagship phones. But don’t buy the phone for the camera. Buy it because if you want to get to something you use daily you can get to it conveniently and fast, hence the name. Don’t buy the phone thinking you’re gonna get 60 FPS gaming though. It’s just not built for that. The battery life is amazing. I can go all day without having to charge it. Its an overall solid phone for the price. I would recommend this phone for sure. There’s not really anything like it. Put a snapdragon 888 and a professional camera in this thing and I wouldn’t need any other phone.

camera is low resolution, but for making basic videos, this is incredible. microphone and stabilization software are very good and the built in video editor is out of this world for cropping and also further stabilization. makes great videos. thats why I bought it. I didnt see anything under $200 that gives you this

In August I got this phone for my daughter and the flagship Note 20 for myself. While the Note is great, in many ways the two are functionally equivalent, yet this this phone is $150 vs $1000 for the Note! Ive also used the Moto Power myself and was very please - amazed by the battery life. If buying a new phone and budget is a consideration, it is worth taking a close look at the Moto line to see if one may be a good option before going with one of the two main phone companies.

I like the phone. Had a Moto G5 previously. Just dont like the swiping to go back to the previous page in a browser. No back arrow, just swipe. So, when Im on Instagram or another site that you swipe to advance - my finger position is just a bit to close to the edge of the screen and it goes backwards. Ive had the phone for over 2 months and it still happens from time to time.
