Greater than one weekSo I bought this for my daughter for Easter and was so excited for it. Today she finally opened it and after a few times of trying it, it BROKE:( . She is now very sad and so am I. Update to this review: the seller sent us a new umbrella upon hearing how our 1st one broke so quickly. Their quickness in addressing this issue and solving problem is greatly appreciated. And my daughter loves her umbrella.

Greater than one weekI really wanted to like this umbrella. We bought 3 for my kids, and at this point, 3 of the 3 umbrellas are broken, so I would not classify this as sturdy umbrella for children. Weve had them for a year now, but every time we open them, we wonder if it will be the last. Also we do not use the umbrellas that much because we do not live in a rainy area. The umbrella is very easy to open and close, so that is the one thing my kids have appreciated. But the umbrella is quite large. Do not expect it to fit inside a backpack for school. If your kid isnt using the umbrella, they will have to hold it the entire time which can be problematic for small children as they tend to set things down and forget about them. The first time my 7 year old took his umbrella to school (also the first time he used it), I watched a taller kid accidentally bump into him, and the umbrella frame easily broke, and now the metal is popping through the fabric. My other son played in the backyard in the rain (maybe the second time we used the umbrellas) and we are having the same issue with his. The metal frame is broken and ripping the fabric. The umbrella has this cloth design that covers the metal frame work on the underneath side of the umbrella, so if a piece of it breaks there is no way to look at the problem and try to fix it. So far my daughters umbrella is the only one thats not completely broken. It opens and closes easily still, but a piece of plastic has come loose on the handle, and it wont stay in place anymore. We are not impressed with this item.

> 3 dayI used this as my daughter Easter Basket. Its bigger than I expected and boy was I happy. Big enough to hold all the Easter treats. She loved that it flips out & thinks its awesome. Shes a tiny 9yrs and it fits her fine. Very happy with this purchase so far. Also it comes with a carrying bag.

> 3 dayI bought this back in October, its been used maybe 10-12 times since. I just grabbed it to walk outside to check the mail, and suddenly felt pain in my fingers. Got inside and looked, and I had DOZENS of tiny shards of fiberglass in my skin! Looked at the umbrella shaft with a flashlight and theyre everywhere, all over the shaft and handle. Apparently the handle is breaking down somewhere and spitting tiny shards of fiberglass everywhere. Had to scoop it up with a trash bag to get it out of my house. Im just glad it was me and not my 7 yr old who had an issue!

18-11-2024it is very pretty and so far quite sturdy. I bought it for my 6 yo who is pretty strong, but not enough to open it and click hard enough to keep open. She always requests my help. This is likely good for an 8yo to use independently.
