Nature’s Bounty Vitamin C 1000mg, Immune Support Supplement, Powerful Antioxidant, 1 Pack, 100 Caplets

Not being coated, they have an awful acidic taste that makes you want to swallow them asap. I have never had such bad tasting pills in my mouth. Will not buy again. Unfortunately, I had bought two bottles because of the good value before tasting them. I may return one bottle, or I’ll have to deal with the taste.

Before I explained why this product SUCKED, I want to let you know that I am a 23-year-old male 5’9” height/160lbs weight. If you are around my measurements, please do not buy this product. I do not want anybody to go through what I have. A couple of weeks ago, I got a severe cold that led me to think I had COVID-19 (thankfully it wasn’t). A couple of friends suggested to take Vitamin C. So, I went ahead and ordered this product since Natural Bounty is undoubtedly a well known supplements brand. I ordered the product on a Sunday and received it on a Tuesday in the afternoon (timely delivery). As soon as I received it, I took my first tablet right after lunch on that same Tuesday. I do not tend to take supplements without food in my stomach. These tablets have a horribly acidic taste and hard to swallow. It left an unpleasant aftertaste but I thought for the sake of getting better, I continued taking one tablet daily. After I finished my work shift, I had the urge to use the bathroom to do the #2 (which it has never happened to me before). I had diarrhea so I immediately figured it was due to the Vitamin C. Later that evening, I started to have urges to pee. Then, I experienced cystitis on top of my severe cold. I felt horrible for week with the cold and cystitis that would not go away. I had a telemedicine visit with a physician. I could have sworn I had an UTI and thats what I told my physician. I was prescribed a 7 days worth of antibiotics. I took them as instructed and my cystitis would not go away. Of course, I continued to take Vitamin C thinking it would help in anyway with my symptoms. I saw my physician again via telemedicine and told her I still experienced the same symptoms. She prescribed another week worth of antibiotics of a different brand. I did an urine culture as ordered by my physician and I came out negative for UTI. By that time, my symptoms have dissipated but I would have never known my cystitis was due to the Vitamin C, this bottle specifically. This past Sunday I had a concert and, since I was feeling better, I started to take Vitamin C just to stay healthy, or thats what I thought. That evening during the concert, my cystitis had come back and could not enjoy the band because I spent most of the time in the restroom. Then, today I took another tablet and AGAIN I am feeling the urge the urinate and burning. GUYS I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO BUY THIS PRODUCT, AT LEAST IF YOU ARE CLOSE TO MY MEASUREMENTS.

Value for money

Difficult to swallow......needed to take the vitamin with food.

Product is a good, stable brand, but these particular capsule-shaped tablets are large with rather sharp edges and they stick in my throat, making me choke and them hard to swallow. Im going to look for another product.

If the answer is yes then buy them

I use Natures Bounty Vitamin C and D3 to try to support my immune response. I also use Acemannan (a derivative of aloe vera) as a part of my regimen.

At 81 and having lost 1/2 of my household income because my hubby had a stroke one year ago and the rehab facility gets all of his income, I cannot afford to lose money on any product; thus I try to buy carefully. Even though this gruesome vitamin was only $10.00, it can never be called a value for its money; given that you will likely have to throw the bottle away. I received it on May 21st and have been choking on it each morning. It was 100 tablets and that is a tremendous amount to discard but as soon as I find an easy to swallow replacement, this will be tossed. Until then, I must go through panic attacks every morning, fearing this is the time it will become jammed in my throat. It is too large and has little or no coating so that the minute it hits the tongue, the chalkiness starts adhering to the tongue and then no matter how much water you toss in your mouth, it wont easily go down. Worse yet, they are as hard as a brick and they are not scored, so cutting them in half is truly impossible. I have tried with a large sharp butcher knife, a large utility scissor and a serrated blade with which to score it myself. It cannot be cut in half. I will admit that I had esophageal cancer surgery in March so must be very careful in what I try to swallow but even had I had no surgery, I would have been unable to swallow these easily. Shame on these companies who see fit to make large, hard pills. There is little doubt it is not necessary and then they do not warn you. I think all pills, capsules and tablets that cannot be seen should put the size under description. It is easy to do and would save the customer money and trouble. But, of course, that is likely why they do not. They would lose sales.
