> 3 dayAfter breaking far too many regular sockets, I decided I wanted to snag a good set of Impact Sockets. I quickly found these Neiko Impact Sockets on Amazon and was encouraged by the reviews. While I was waiting for them to arrive, I grabbed a comparably priced Hart set from my local WalMart. I figured Id keep the best set and return the other. I added a bunch of photos in case anyone else considers the same. Once I got my hands on both sets I could immediately feel the difference. The Hart brand seem like light duty and thin walled (which you might need in certain applications), but the Neiko set was exactly what you would want in an impact set. I purchased these in the middle of tearing apart the front end of my truck, and had broken my standard 15 mm Craftsman socket doing so. The Neiko did the job with ease. The 8 point grip worked perfectly and didnt slip at all. In my application, I had to hammer them on (rusty bolts) and they gripped perfectly. I am convinced this set not only saved me breaking other sockets, but also kept me from rounding off my bolts. I took all the photos after the job, which is why the 15mm Neiko shows some wear. The Neiko set only has two drawbacks in my opinion/application: first, Im not big on blow-molded cases, so I preferred the more compact design of the Hart case as it fits more easily with my impact gun tool bag; second, I noticed is that the sizing paint was already starting to wear a bit after the first use. That said, the Neiko set also has the size stamped right into the socket on the back which I love, a feature lacking in the Hart set. This means that years from now, when these are all banged up, I can easily still tell which size is which. Bottom line: if you are looking for an impact set that will tolerate tons of abuse and last you a while (maybe even a lifetime if you dont lose them!), this is your set.
