This Needler looks amazing and sits in my collection of weapons from movies, Shows and Games perfectly. You can barely even tell its a Nerf gun. Question though: I received 5 in game code cards but only 1 of them has a code? Im not sure if I was supposed to get 8 or just the 1? If anyone can tell me what they got.

Bought the Needler for myself as I am a huge fan of the Halo franchise. Absolutely blown away that Nerf has produced such a masterpiece of a replica. Let me be clear, this is not the blaster you want with you in a Nerf war. It is difficult to tell where the heck youre shooting as their are no sights. However, the rate of fire and the velocity at which the darts are fired is very impressive to say the least. 6 AA batteries is a tad excessive for anything in my opinion, but the blaster makes up for it in every other way. The lights are so cool. The fact that there is a display mode is even cooler. Then the cherry on top is the fact that there is a touch sensor on the grip that detects when you touch the blaster, which activates the lights. Just mind blowing. And like I said earlier, the motor on this thing is strong. The darts do sting a little if youre hit close range. Now, apparently I read everything about this blaster but missed the part where it comes with a freaking display stand, so picture my face when I opened the box and see that thrown in there too. Its nothing super fancy, just clear plastic. But the fact that they put that in there just further shows their commitment to this blaster in particular. The attention to detail is insane. I can go on about this blaster for another 5 paragraphs, or you can just go buy one. I am very tempted to buy a second one so I can dual wield.

I have been waiting a year to get my hands on one of these, and was super excited when it finally arrived. The lights are beautiful and animate with the darts firing, making the effect of the needles being fired. The darts fire pretty powerfully, I was very surprised. The display stand is really nice to have as well. I just wish that Nerf would have included a way to keep the blaster always plugged in, so that the display mode lights could be always on, instead of needing to worry about batteries.

If there were two cornerstones of my life growing up, it was Nerf blasters and Halo. One of my longtime childhood fantasies was a Nerf Needler. Of all the crazy sci-fi weapons we wished we could have as a foam firing toys, the infamous bringer of pink mist was my pick. Ultimately it never happened during that time (BOOM Cos Needler was fun, but definitely didnt nail the looks), and eventually I grew out of the hobby scene in general. Yet, when I found out Hasbro was going to make a game-accurate, functioning replica of the Needler, I was chomping at the bit to get it. I think they knocked it out of the park. The blaster itself looks fantastic. Its almost identical in appearance to the Needler from Halo: Reach through Infinite. Almost all of the fine details are visible. The blaster itself is weighty and feels very sturdy. Whats nice is that all the protruding elements of the gun, like the fins on the bottom and the needles themselves are made of a flexible material so they wont break if you bump into them or drop the blaster. The lighting effects are also great looking. The LEDs are bright and the blaster has a neat feature of sequentially turning off the needles as you fire off darts, mimicking the games behavior. You reload the needles by flipping open and shut the cylinder door on the left side of the blaster. It also shoots surprisingly well, better than Id expect for a blaster that seemingly values looks over performance. Its a fully automatic electric plunger with a 10-dart cylinder, similar to the old Dart Tag Speedswarm. This was a pleasant surprise considering most new Nerf blasters have totally ditched this type of firing mechanism for flywheels. Im not going to bother range testing it, but it fires hard and darts fly out to ranges that Id expect of most new Elite type blasters. It isnt the most consistent or accurate though, but thats to be expected of a blaster firing Elite darts out of barrels this short. Heavier darts and Id say you can stay on target pretty well with this thing. I do have some minor gripes though. Even though the colors are dead on, I wish they gave the gun a more metallic sheen like it has in game. Its also an ergonomic nightmare. The grip is horrid and its a pain to reload thanks to the giant muzzle that covers most of the cylinder. That said, its worth noting that this blaster basically eschews all practically in favor of being as accurate to the game model as realistically possible. Its not something youre going to want to play a round of HvZ with (or whatever people play these days). Its also a bit expensive, but I guess if you really want this thing then the price shouldnt be too big of an issue. Overall Im really happy with this Needler. Its definitely a childhood dream come true and Im glad its as good as it is.

It is very clean and sharp looking, only flaw is it seems to eat away at the batteries on display mode so switch it off after you are done showing it or displaying it to save yourself on batteries like myself.

Great collectible for any Halo fan! The needles light up and, as you shoot, the light goes out in the needles as if they are emptying from the top. Pretty cool little addition. Happy with this product!
