Sewing a dress

I love using these threads in my quilting and embroidery. These threads are amazing. The colors are bright and works very well in my Pfaff embroidery machine. The price in excellent. Shipping was very fast. Will buy again!!

Most of these spools are one color and stark white. The darker colors are a darker color instead of white, but if you are looking for a truly variegated thread, this is not the one for you. There are multi colored variegated threads and if you want some dimension to your design, I would recommend those. These are okay for sewing, but not really useful for embroidery.

While I only use variegated thread occasionally, I purchased this since I have been hand dyeing many fabrics lately, suing the ice dyeing or low water immersion techniques, which result in mottled and variegated fabrics. I decided to use the thread on a pair of curtains that I hand dyed the fabric for, and was able to pull out a cone of thread from this kit and it was a near perfect match! It worked beautifully, and it also came out well, when I was not paying attention and sewed the wrong side of the curtain rod holder down. Overall, a very nice set, including colors I will actually use.
