The lens seems great and as expected! Nice bokeh. Only docked one star because it appears to be Australian from the warranty. Which I don’t think affects the warranty but if buying in North America it would be expected to get one intended for North America I think? Also Amazon can’t even be bothered to use any packing materials for a $900+ purchase. No added protection at all. Mind blowing.

Ive been a Nikon shooter for many years. Love my Z7 and much more with this 85mm prime. Its a magical lens, incredibly sharp, fast, and will be another go to alongside my 50mm prime.

By far the best price (maybe it was on special) for this great lens. Registered it with Nikon and it has an Australian warranty. Fast delivery too!

A great prime lens, for a reasonable price (compared to the zoom lenses). I like the f1.8 aperture, which makes this such a fast lens. I’ve had great results using it indoors for candid portraits.

I decided to upgrade so I wouldnt have to use the FTZ adapter and the Tamron 85 1.8. It is smaller and lighter especially since you dont have to us an adapter. To me ,when comparing the Tamron 85 to the Nikon 85s lens I dont see much of a difference. Auto focus may be faster, it may be sharper in the corners, or sharper overall. It is a lot lighter and smaller. From my usage, so far I really didnt see a big difference. I guess if you shoot test charts then view them at 3 - 400 % you can see one is better than the other. So am I returning the lens? No, because this lens should last a long time and if the Tamron 85 1.8 from 2016 is as close in performance to the Nikon 85 1.8 from 2019 manufactures have probably reached a limit to what can be done at certain price points.
