> 3 dayI previously purchased a small fan and got 2 for the price of this one thinking....big deal...its a fan. Well when the item was out in a shed, that was pretty true. Now it was near my desk in the house and YIKES, the noisy cheaper fan was like swarm of angry bees. I remembered seeing these before in my fan searches and I figured it was worth a try even at the higher price.

Greater than one weekI bought this fan to replace one the same size on a brand new Swann home security recorder I just bought which was unbearably noisy. The fan arrived well packaged with comprehensive instructions in English and an array of adapters including optional extension cable, a noise reducing resistor cable to slow the fan down, 3 pin to 2 pin adapter, various plug types with cable connectors, new screws and rubber damping fixings. The fan I was replacing was running at 6000rpm which was ridiculously noisy. This fan is advertised at 4500rpm dropping to 3700rpm with the resistor cable. The slower the quieter! I was sceptical but delighted to find it works and at 3700rpm the noise level is much reduced making it possible to sleep in my spare room again. Only slight issue is the fixing holes were bigger that those on my old fan. So I had to carefully widen the holes on my aluminium mounting brackets by gently reaming the self tapping screws in and out a couple of times. Delighted I now have a quiet fan on my device.
