My case only had one slot for an 80mm fan in the back and I am not disappointed in this fan it moves a lot of air even using the low noise adapter. It is more on the expensive side for fans buy trust me its worth it.

Purchased two of these fans for use in a Silverstone GD09B HTPC chassis. Was worried that running two 80mm fans in here 1) wouldnt fit, and 2) would be too loud. Am happy to report that these fit side by side easily in the rear exhaust area on the Silverstone case, and that they are not audible using the standard profile from my motherboards pwm header.

I have a 50 watt grow light in my living room and the original fan was too loud. I searched quite fans and found this. I didnt realize how loud the 1st fan was until I got this and could compare thsm. It has 2 speed settings and both of them are ridiculously quiet. Considering how cheap they are you cant go wrong. I dont think its just the rubber mounting attachments that are on the fan, but the fan itself is just really quiet. I am using 2 of them for LEDS and neither one is housed in any enclosure that would dampen the sound. They are both open, visible and super quiet. Highly recommended!

Great packaging. All needed mounting hardware. Extension cables and splinter cables if needed for installation. Would buy again.

I recently started hearing a fan whine coming from my cpu cooler fan. Being since its a old Dell xps 8700 with a i7 4790. I didnt want to buy a cpu cooler for it since its never given me a heat issue. I was already planning to clean out the old thermal paste on it and decided to purchase this. I had already swapped out the rear fan about 2 years back with a noctua 92mm fan to help with the noise and improve thermals. Happy to say you dont hear it at all and noticing my cpu idling a little bit cooler with the stock heatsink attached.

Its difficult to imagine a fan being more premium.

Yes, it is a tiny beast. Installed on a side panel directly above my Ryzen 1600 and it dropped 5 degrees while idle and 8 under load using the Wraith Spire. Mostly quiet operation. Construction feels solid.

Great fan real quite beats the stock fans engine turbines and its not even running hot and so loud. Glad I bought this I can enjoy my streaming.

NF-A8 PWM headerNF-A8 PWM header

The NF-A8 is a highly optimised, premium quality quiet 80mm fan. Featuring Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A8 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-R8. The PWM version sports Noctua’s custom designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin fan headers and comes with a Low-Noise-Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed during PWM control from 2200 to 1750rpm. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for the highest demands.

AAO frame

Noctua"s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua"s proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan"s performance/noise efficiency.

Flow Acceleration Channels

The NF-A8 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.

SSO2 bearing

The NF-A8 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua"s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

Integrated anti-vibration pads

Integrated anti-vibration pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems.

Scope of delivery

  • Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A)
  • NA-YC1 4-pin PWM y-cable
  • NA-EC1 30cm extension cable
  • 4x NA-AV1 anti-vibration mounts
  • Fan screws

Inner Surface Microstructures

With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency.
