These things are expensive, but I think they are worth the price. They push a large amount of air, and are the quietest fan I have ever seen. Also, Noctua stands behind their products. A friend of mine had an issue with his, and they quickly replaced it.

Silent Running. Got this fan for my old HP. Dropped right in. No problem. Used the reduced rpm cable included. Soooo quiet I catch myself grabbing my flashlight to see if its running....5 star !!

Im stunned at their ability to cool a 160mm radiator.

It is quiet and good quality. It comes with some connectors. Everything looks so pro, doesnt like other cheap PC fan.

The Fan that’s missing in all the Alienware Aurora chassis design from r1-r12. The inside haven’t changed. Still lacking air cooling and only room for 1 liquid cooling radiator 120mm. If u running SLI you can’t install liquid cool gpu and ur gpu are literally facing the bottom of the case with no room for air. Only 1 fan is facing the back side of the GPU and that’s the front fan. One of the only 2 fans in this compacted case. They do come standard with up to 3000+rpm fans which is pretty impressive I give them that. But the noise is unbearable at that fan speed. So I switched it to noctua front Fans and got a bit more quiet but not much since I don’t spin the rpm high on the older ones anyways which doesn’t make much noise when it is t spinning crazy anyways, anyways I notice the side panels has ventilations on it and even seems like holes for you to mount a fan. So I bought one of these small 80mm fans to try it out and it worked it was pretty easy disconnect the metal chassis from the plastic cover it, a single clip like mechanism in the center held the entire thing together, ones I unlock the clip I just push and slide the metal plate off the plastic panel from the Aurora and begin installing the fan, funny thing is tho, ones I installed it I realized there is no extra 4 pins fan headers for u to plug in an extra fan unless u want to use the CPU fan header for the side panel fan or put the pump fan to the cpu header and then put the side panel fan to the pump fan, neither option was appealing to me, so I went to secret option number 3, I use the Y cable that came with the noctua 80mm pwn fan and plug my front fan and the side panel fan into it and use the front fan header since they fairly same location of the case and both noctua fans I figure it won’t be too big of a problem fingers crossed and it worked. Even tho they are different sizes and different RPM rating. Lol anyways check out the temp difference. I’m pretty happy with the mod I did on it, almost felt like Alienware should’ve included it from the begining. Also I think there is enough room to fit another 120mm liquid cooler in the front fan spot with a bit of dremel work u can cut out some of the excess metal chassis and some of the plastic in the front. That way u can liquid cool ur gpu and your cpu. I’m thinking I might do that one day just for fun. I don’t even play games on my computer now. I just like taking it apart and changing pc parts left and right just for fun and performance. Anyways yeah if u have an Aurora, get one of these, it’s good.

My amp sounded like a Vacumm..now is super silent. Best mod ever to calm your noisy devices. I use them in my HTPC build as well.

Absolutely silent when using the noise reduction adapter. This does reduce the airflow and increase temperatures slightly. This comes with rubber screw replacements, but they often break, just use the screws.

I am using other 120mm Noctura fans, and they are of good quality and run quietly forever. Quiet is the name of the game and Noctura does not disappoint. I purchased this 80mm fan based on past and present experience. I added it to my homebrew desktop computer specifically to cool a NVME Samsung 980 solid state C-drive (also purchased from Amazon). The ultra quiet Noctura fan knocked 20 degrees Celsius off the NVME. The fan comes with mounting gear, but I used plastic ties to position it for maximum cooling. This was installed at least 15 months ago, and all is still good. My rig only uses Noctura. Yes, highly recommend.

These are the best fans in the world for a reason... and even though they are the most hideous PC parts that Ive ever seen, I dont think that Ill ever go back.

NF-A8 PWM headerNF-A8 PWM header

The NF-A8 is a highly optimised, premium quality quiet 80mm fan. Featuring Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A8 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-R8. The PWM version sports Noctua’s custom designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin fan headers and comes with a Low-Noise-Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed during PWM control from 2200 to 1750rpm. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for the highest demands.

AAO frame

Noctua"s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua"s proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan"s performance/noise efficiency.

Flow Acceleration Channels

The NF-A8 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.

SSO2 bearing

The NF-A8 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua"s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

Integrated anti-vibration pads

Integrated anti-vibration pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems.

Scope of delivery

  • Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A)
  • NA-YC1 4-pin PWM y-cable
  • NA-EC1 30cm extension cable
  • 4x NA-AV1 anti-vibration mounts
  • Fan screws

Inner Surface Microstructures

With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency.
