> 24 hourI first used Noctua fans for some home servers about 15 years ago. I just used these to replace my case fans on a gaming PC. They are near silent and my temp monitors at around 25% lower than before. I have quite a quiet heat sink fan but now it sounds like a routemaster bus in comparison. Now need to buy a Noctua heat sink.

I switch out all of my case fans with these cool blasting beauties, as well as, using their CPU fans/ heatsinks. I consistently get as good or better cooling as my buddies using middle of the road liquid cooling systems (of similar price point), but they are ohhhh soooo reliable. Cant say the same for my friends liquid pumps and fans :) Overclocking or not - these are my go to fans! 3 of these are now keeping my Haswell system in the low 50s under heavy load inside a Corsair Vengeance Series C70 case.
The NF-S12A marks the third generation of Noctua’s signature S12 series quiet case fans, which have received more than 250 awards and recommendations from the international press. Featuring a further refined blade design with Anti-Stall Knobs that works in tandem with the new AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame, the NF-S12A improves the airflow/noise efficiency of its renowned predecessor by up to 8%. The PWM version sports Noctua’s custom designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin fan headers and comes with a Low-Noise-Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed during PWM control from 1200 to 900rpm. Anti-Stall Knobs
The NF-S12A"s Anti-Stall Knobs reduce flow separation phenomena in medium to high impedance situations and thereby increase the fan"s stall margin. This means that the NF-S12A is even more versatile than its renowned predecessor and can achieve better performance on heatsinks and radiators.
