Occidental Leather 8581 FatLip Fastener Bag

Overall a good feeling tool bag, hard to beat the smell and feel of work heavy leather. I know Occidental bags are supposed to be the best you can get and last forever but it appears that their quality control has gone down in this example. Im not a professional leather worker but I do know that in high wear areas on leather goods, a shallow groove is made for the stitching to lay down in, so to keep it protected. In this case several areas including the back of the pouch where it rubs all day against your waist, as well as several interior pockets locations that will be in contact with tools were not. I just cant imagine the stitching holding up to my metal file or beat up channys rubbing against it all day every day. Might take another look at Occidental again in the future and chalk these bags up to covid quality.

Great bag, tons of room for fasteners and with the speed square slot and tool holders it very versatile. The main pouch is practically bottomless! All the guys on the job think they are great looking bags too!

This pouch is awesome, plenty of room in the two front pouches (2 chalk boxes & gun oil), the tape measure is a 35’ tape and it fits perfectly, the large pouch under the tape will hold about 75 racks of gun nails (two poweraid bottles would easily fit inside). Highly recommend!

Best bags ever! From the tool dividers down to the stitching, these bags have far surpassed my expectations. Plenty of room for everything and deep enough to not allow anything to fall out. Will not use any other bags ever again.

Best investment ever made

This product really meets American standards, this bag is the most comfortable I have owened I would recommend it to any tradesmen. They also look great.

I like the bag but with so much nylon they just dont last like a $90 bag should. I should have purchased the all leather ones so its really my mistake.

As a union carpenter this is the best tool bag Ive had so far. Ive had this for 6 months and I would have already went through two bags from Home Depot or Lowes in the same time. They get snagged on everything from rebar tie wire to scissor lifts and they never rip or tear, oftentimes Ill be worried that I rip them and look down and to my surprise they are perfectly fine. They are a little heavier than bags from Home Depot or Lowes but they are balanced better so they feel lighter. The layout for all your tools are perfect, the only problem Ive had is the speed square will fall out a couple times a day but not everybody that has these bags has that situation. The pockets are deeper than they look and holds plenty of nails. I also love that they are made in America.

I have been wanting one of these bags for a few years now. It definitely did not disappoint, a little bigger than I imagined but very comfortable.
