> 3 daySeveral of my security cameras are mounted on a short tower in my backyard. With seemingly annual hail damage and +100F hot summer days, most inexpensive wifi PTZ or bullet-type cameras dont stand a chance. If you cant place your camera(s) under a soffit or porch, a sun-rain shield like this one is strongly recommended - even if the manufacturer doesnt state so. What I like about this shield: + It appears solidly constructed, made from a durable coated ABS material + Has a rubber embedded gasket on the back mounting flange to the keep elements out + Size is suitable to accommodate most bullet or PTZ cameras + Has a white outer shell for sun protection; black underside to help prevent reflection + The mounting hardware is included, and its simple to install Great product and price!

> 3 dayThis is very easy to install, just 2 screws. Works well with cameras pointed straight, but if they are on an angle they dont work too well.

> 3 dayI got this for our outdoor camera system since we live in the South where it tends to rain a lot and its hard to see our cameras during such weather. My husband said installation was simple. My concern is the amount of heat we get almost year round, as of now the Dome works well but I will update if anything changes.

> 3 dayI have some Wyze outdoor rated cameras but I like the extra protection provided by these hoods. The hoods are easy to mount after you have your camera installed. They are easy to mount and keep the elements off the cameras. They are ideal for the small cube cams but might not be big enough for the longer barrel cams.

> 3 dayShould work out well. With all the rain and wind we get in the Northwest, I wanted a little more protection from the elements. The cover is made of plastic and while not super thin, you should be careful not to over torque the screws to avoid cracking it. The mounting plate on the rear of the cover does have a gasket that should also help repel water. The cover also came with mounting screws. I didnt like the white so I decided to give it a quick shot of black paint. As far as the price point, probably worth the money to protect your investment!

> 3 dayUnable to protect during strong downpour. This is something to consider when purchasing this device. Overall I think this product is worthless. Im considering replacing my outdoor cameras more suitable for the harsh winter weather. The product is sturdy and well made, the 3 ⭐⭐⭐ rating is because it didnt protect my camera during a rain downpour

> 3 dayI was a little concerned that this is just made of plastic, but it is quite thick while being lightweight as well. Very easy to install on my wood siding home. Youll need a bit more time to install on stucco, concrete, or metal. This cheap investment is protecting my one fully exposed and very expensive security camera. Well worth it. Extra benefit. It helps keep the rain off the camera lens for a better view in inclement weather.
