> 3 dayThis is an excellent duffle. It is really well made – all the zippers move well, the fabric is really sturdy, the straps are padded & well made, finger pulls on zippers make it easy to open/close & there is a lot of room. The padded straps can function as backpack straps which is great if you are on public transport or going thru an airport or train station. They are not meant for long hauling but are comfortable during travel. There is a key fob in the large front pocket. For storing, it all folds up & is held together with the straps – nice & neat/flat.

> 3 dayPurchased this duffel for scout camp for our son. Can be used as a pack with straps for easy carry. More than large enough and durable. I recommend it!

> 3 dayPros: -As I’d expect from Osprey, this duffel bag is buy it for life quality. The recycled fabric is lightweight and sturdy, the workmanship is excellent, and the lifetime guarantee is second to none. -The top panel has a layer of foam to provide padding against your back when in backpack mode, and the padded straps are ergonomically curved and covered in a breathable mesh. It isn’t as comfortable for heavy loads as a dedicated backpack, but it is pretty good and very handy when having to schlep luggage across an airport in a hurry. It’s a lot more manuverable than trying to drag a wheeled bag through a crowd. - If not overstuffed, this duffle might work as a carry on item(depending on the airline). The padded handles on both ends make this easy to hoist into overhead compartments; -The 60L size is big enough to pack for both my husband and myself for a week away. -The folding top panel and lack of rigid bottom make it possible to fold this bag in half or flatten it for storage. -The blue color is lovely. Cons: -Using the water bottle pocket when carrying as a backpack results in the bottle jutting out at an awkward, nearly horizontal diagonal that doesn’t seem super secure.

Greater than one weekThe u-shaped opening on top makes for easy access. Good small zipper pocket storage as well. Like that it can be worn comfortably as a backpack too!

> 3 dayThis is the best duffel I have ever used, and I love that it is convertible to a backpack when carrying it over long distances. Have only gotten one use out of it so far on a weeklong trip, but it had sufficient space for clothing and toiletries for two adults, as well as a couple pairs of extra shoes, for a week long trip. I organized it with Osprey packing cubes and rolled the clothing to maximize space, and am so far thrilled to have found such a wonderful duffel that I figure will last me for many, many years to come.

Greater than one weekGood balance of backpack&duffel. Suitable for air travel. 60L is a good size, big enough to hold multiple days clothes, but not so large that its hard to wear or maneuver while wearing. For my height (average American male), I would not go smaller than 50L or larger than 70L. Its small enough to pack into a larger suitcase if youre not sure how much capacity youll need on the way back. Very well made, no dangling bits, heavy material, and multiple handles. The straps are not the most padded and theres no sternum or waist strap (its not an actual backpack) but perfectly adequate to wear as a backpack for making connections & transits. Mine went through multiple international airports as checked baggage and shows no sign of wear. Other Thoughts: Make sure you load it correctly if you plan to wear it-- extra weight on what suddenly becomes the top is very awkward. The airlines I used put the duffel in a luggage bin both for checking and for baggage claim. The small side pockets (curiously only on 2 sides, instead of 3) are handy. Quibbles: shoulder straps should be a little more padded. A loop to allow hanging this off a large suitcase would be helpful for air travelers. Overall, the best of 3 similar bags I looked at. And Ive been very happy with the longevity of my other Osprey backpacks. Recommended.
