The true beauty of this swivel is how it still turns fluidly under load. If you buy a galvanized swivel from your local hardware store, its so chock full of friction, it wont turn until its under enough rotational force to overcome the friction. The stuff you get in a hardware store is absolute garbage compared to this product. Its a buttery smooth rotation, and I love it.

We used this for hanging a hammock chair and it allows for easily facing in any direction we care to.

I bought this to go along with a pod swing that I bought for my son. It got here late so he was asleep when I hung it up. I made the horrible mistake of trying it out to make sure it worked before he wakes up in the morning. This thing *definitely* works. If you tried a swivel from the hardware store to no success - then this is what you actually want. If you need something that spins just by the simply fact that you look at it - this is your swivel. If you want the smoothest spin youve ever had- get this swivel! If you want something that reminds you of those spinning cup chairs at the playground that spin nonstop until you fly off - this is the swivel you want. Great for adding accessories to a homemade heavy duty swing set. Making it strong enough for an average adult to use as well and it was exactly what we needed.

I keep my dog on three linked-together chains in the backyard. Everyday, I would have to go out, sometimes multiple times a day, and “untwist” his chain, as it would twist up and shorten from him running around. I installed this swivel between two of the chains. It’s been on there about two weeks now, and I have not one time had to untwist his chain since installing it. It solved my problem. He is a large dog and it takes the pulling. The chain drags in dirt and grass and it handles that as well. I’m 100% satisfied with this swivel device !!!

A simple need filled: a safe, free-spinning tire swing for the kids. The fact that it spins even while under load is a testament to the crafting of this item. I will certainly buy these again for more rugged applications.
