Paperless [Old Version]

I bought this software in conjunction with the Fujitsu S1500M scanner after reading reviews on various scanners. I have been very happy with both products and been able to get rid of a lot of stored paper documents. I am using a MacBook Pro with the latest Apple OS (Snow Leopard), which works great with both items. I also use two external hard drives, one for regular Time Machine backups that the Apple OS drives and the other is a drive where I keep a back up of the scanned documents. I plan to burn some documents to to a CD and keep those offsite. We have all lost hard drives at one time or another so having these backups is essential element to the plan.

Im delighted with Paperless. I bought a ScanSnap 300M about a year ago and I was a little surprised at the lack of software included. I bought the only software I could find, Neat Receipts. It worked pretty good at first, but with 300 documents it has nearly become unusable.

Allows you to directly scan documents into a searchable PDF database on your Mac. Ive been using it for several months and it works rather seamlessly, especially if you have a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner, which is really the best sheet fed scanner for the Mac hands down. Paperless allows you to have multiple databases for different types of items like receipts or documents. You can also create a PDF directly from a web page into Paperless, although this works best if Paperless is already open, I have found. Definitely two thumbs up from my experience.

I bought the software, Paperless by Mariner, for $49. I was so excited to scan all my piles of documents and finally get rid of my paper clutter. I tried several times to download the software, but the enclosed serial number is not accepted. I tried contacting Mariner by phone and email. I reached a recording indicating that the phone customer service has been shut down as of February 1, 2011. Theres been no response to my email that I sent over 2 weeks ago to request technical assistance. This software company is useless.

The ad displayed on this page is incorrect. Only version 1.0 is available on Tiger, and Mariner is no longer supporting the Tiger version of the software. All other versions of the software run on Leopard and Snow Lepoard.

I reviewed many products before buyin this one. I thought I was getting something that would make my life easier but this crappy software never worked right from the beginning. I contacted Mariner customer service and tried to get them to fix my issues for 2 months and I finally gave up. I asked for my money back because I was spending way too much time entering the information in (sometimes 3 times) before it would save. They simply ignored me and wont even respond. What a nightmare. I have never written a bad review before but I couldnt let this continue without writing something. I had to bite the bullet and get Neat Receipts which Im not excited about but it is better than this piece of crap and the customer service(?) that goes with it. I would give this no stars but it wouldnt give me that option.DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

DO NOT buy this software if you have an HP or Cannon printer / scanner. IT WILL NOT WORK! Im sure it works great if you want to spend $400.00 on a Fujitsu scanner.

Avoid this software. It is incredibly buggy and just doesnt work. The support department is awful, takes forever and will try to blame their issues on anything they can! Save your money!
