came just as expected. laboratory parafilm. not exciting, but it is just what I ordered.

Keeps splitting where the lid meets the bottom. Im overhandling my cultures. It must be old.

I was a little worried after seeing some reviews suggesting the parafilm was too old and that it would break too easily, when my parafilm arrived I immediately took it out for a test wrapping the diameter on one wide mouth 1qt jar lid. At first I thought I had received a bad batch as It was constantly breaking as I tried to wrap around with 2, 3, and even 4 squares! An important note is this is my first time dealing with parafilm so I decided to double check to see if it was user error and it totally was! What you need to do is hold one end to your surface and then pinch just a inch away and stretch out small sections at a time, youll get a feel for when its time to add a little more slack to stretch out. Using this method, with the same parafilm I was able to go around my jar lid not just once but twice with only 2 squares! Good product theres a reason its so popular!

Does what it’s suppose to do

Even when stretched lightly, it still cracks after a few days. Way too expensive to work so poorly.

If youve never used parafilm it probably isnt what you want, but once you have been in a lab a while it is a staple that is almost impossible to go without. The product is fine, but the box had a broken bottom so I had to tape it up to keep the roll from falling out. Probably ripped during shipping because the roll is pretty heavy. First time with the single wide, Ive always used double wide. I think I prefer double wide because the stretch thins out horizontal width so much, and it really is quite amenable to trimming thinner. Will buy more (probably double wide) when I run out for sure. Parafilm is good stuff.

I was familiar with Parafilm from my student days in Chemistry labs. I started hearing from people that Parafilm had uses outside of the lab as well. Folks are using it to seal perfume bottles, decant, and travel sprays to prevent or reduce perfume evaporation. There is a bit of a learning curve to using this stuff. It is stretchy, but if you pull too much, it will break. Thats why I gave it 4 stars, even though the roll I received was in great shape. Very happy to have it!
