Greater than one weekThis box is made with very soft wood. I bought this box for my conures, within a few days they managed to bite thru the bottom of the box and escape. They attacked my other birds, biting their feet. Now I have a useless box and birds with bloody feet. IF YOU END OF BUYING THIS, DONT SAY YOU WERENT WARNED.

> 3 dayI love that this can be mounted on the outside of the cage giving the bird a lot more space in the cage. As soon as I mounted it on the cage, my Caique poked her head in for a couple of minutes before climbing in to explore it. Then she spent about 40 minutes inside whistling and happily exploring! She sleeps in there every night and absolutely loves it!!

> 3 dayBoth mom and dad fit comfortably inside. This was the first fertile clutch, and I’m nosy, so I cut the end piece out to be able to check on them more easily. They nibble here and there on the wood but it’s been about 6 weeks and it’s still doing its job! Droppings get kicked around and go through pine sheddings from the babies, a lot got to the bottom wood, so I line it with paper towels and change daily to try to preserve it better.. but other than that it’s great. Holding 3 babies and parents.
