Perfect-It 3M 05708 Perfect It Ultrafine Foam Polishing Pad Double Sided 8 Inches, Blue

Im not a pro, I just do my own cars. As a mechanic, I love the fact that they are double sided bonnets. And the 3M quality, makes them last longer than an average one.

This pad, when used with as part of a resurface system beginning at 800 or 1000 wet sanding and continuing on to 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000 grit wet sanding, put a mirror perfect finish on my 2000 Mercedes headlight lenses. Many will stop at 1500 or 2000 grades then move on to polishing with soft foam pad and polish compound but, while the surface will appear shiny, the underlying rough lenses surface will cause your headlight beam to be fuzzy and diffused dramatically reducing light output and clarity... and noticeable lost of night time illumination. Same stepped finishing process on your cars painted surfaces will yield glass like finishes when polished with 3M Perfect-it Ultrafine foam polish pad and an 3M Perfect-It Ultrafine polish. These 5000 grit discs you will restore to factory new clarity and surface smoothness for a 100% crystal clear restoration. It is extra work and expense but, you will not be disappointed by the end result and the finish quality will last much longer. Dont forget to apply appropriate UV protectant to lenses - Meguiars Headlight Protectant is excellent and easy to apply each time you wax

Again I use a griots dual action polisher and these pads here are simply great for applying paint sealent carnuba based waxes or even synthetic waxes there just great

These foam polishing pads are expensive, however they outperform all others. Theyll make a novice feel like a pro, but only a pro can afford to replace them on a weekly basis. The inevitable consequence of using compounding and polishing pads is ripping the surface of the pad. That makes them as reliable as a cheap pair of shoes, but I wont use any other. I just wont get caught up in paint jobs too often. Great shine ( but CHING !!).

Great pad for polishing . Will need the 3M 05752 5/8 Thread Quick Release Adaptor to use it .

Not as soft as the 8 inch pad but they work well in tight and small places. Good for polishing the bottom of the doors where you cant use the larger sized pads.

They work well to buff your final coat of wax to a nice shine. I bought the initial 3M velcro pad for use with a drill to cut down on time and effort. Large buffers are still better but these allow you get into tighter spots.
