I bought a Philips Norelco 5100 beard trimmer in 2016 because I got sick of my old trimmer ripping the hairs off my face instead of cutting them. For $60 bucks, I was still impressed and it worked flawlessly, no pinching or tearing. Fast-forward to present day, my wife knocked it off my sink counter and broke it. So my beard got into mountain man territory while trying to find a replacement. After reading reviews for just about every beard trimmer on this site, I decided to go with the 7000. You get a lot for your $50, way more than my 5100 came with. The hair on my neck was about 2 weeks worth of growth and without any attachments, breezed through it and gave me the close stubble length my old 5100 gave me. The longest beard attachment is a 7mm, which took my beard town a little further than I would have liked, BUT, it cut through the long, unkempt and erratically grown beard hair without pulling, tearing or pinching me, which is all I really wanted from a beard trimmer. Maintenance is simple, no oiling the blades, which are super sharp btw. Overall Im very pleased with this trimmers performance. I wont be using it to cut my hair, so cant comment on that, but for beards, it works great.

I bought this just over two years ago, and have been reasonably happy with it... Until I unplugged it from the charger this morning and realized it is dead (and wont even run while plugged in). Over its two year life, I used it a couple times a week to trim my beard and since the pandemic started I have cut my own hair with it every two weeks or so. Occasional use for body trimming as well. As other reviewers have mentioned, the multiple guards are a pain to keep track of, but I have a system. It works pretty well for body grooming but make sure to use a guard or else there will be blood. I guess I shouldnt feel too bad about a $60 groomer lasting only two years, especially given the money I have saved on haircuts. But with the new version showing almost twice as much, I think I may switch to another brand. Happy trimming!

Great to use in the shower and the battery life seems to last for weeks and is easy to clean after use

Good machine but not working on neck as it doesn’t cut short enough . Main reason I need it is to save me shaving the neck and get in grown hair issues. Returned it and bought Wahl MAG even if I will buy a new one every year but still the one I need. The shaver head didn’t work much on my face either.

I have been using this for a year now, and the blade is excellent. It produces a clean, easy cut, and never snags or pulls hair. The battery life is also well above average. It would be nice if it came with a variable depth guide comb. Changing combs when working on facial hair is a drag.

I am pleased with my purchase so far. I just received it yesterday, and after charging it I used it to trim my beard. I read some reviews about how this trimmer is not adjustable, so I was concerned that i might not be able to find a length that I liked, but, in my opinion, this trimmer comes with a lot of guard options and I havent seen this as an issue for me. The trimmer is quieter than I expected, which is nice! I havent used it enough to comment on battery life. The only cons that I see so far are minimal. The brush that comes with the trimmer is very small and cheap, and the bag to store the attachments in also feels cheap. Besides that, I am pleased with my purchase so far.
