PNY Elite 480GB USB 3.1 Gen 1 Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) - (PSD1CS1050-480-FFS)

I have several of those which I use for traveling and/or transfer of files for customers. They work great, are very reasonably priced and super portable.

I passed this by at its regular selling price, but when I saw it on sale, I didn’t hesitate. Now I’m sorry that I didn’t check to see if I could get two at the sale price. I simply plugged this into a USB 3.0 port an ultralight laptop with an Intel Core i7 running under Windows 10. Using Crystal DiskMark 5, this wonderful little drive clocked better than 400 Mb/S on Read and Write! I got this primarily for use with my laptop when I travel and do photo and video editing. It weighs practically nothing, is very small and fast. Everything I could want. I’m going to keep my eyes open for the next time it is offered at a sale price on Amazon and get a second. Jerry

Only issue is the extremely short cord.

I bought this for my XBox 1S to store games on and make them run faster. Primarily PUBG. Yes. I bought this SSD to play one game whose developers cant seem to be able to make this game run smooth without devoting every single resource the console has. And it still runs terribly. The SSD makes a world of difference though. Loads other games faster and provides more storage space. Thinking about buying another one for my laptop. Size cant be beat.

Great little SSD. Uses a standard USB Micro-B 10 pin connector that can be replaced provide connection to USB type C or A. Comes with an A connector. Depending on you computers USB port speed this drive can be used to host applications or VMs.

FAST. Small, Good price. BUY it. Remember to to a full reformat after arrival. Otherwise will not run at full speed. Ask Don at PNY support!

I evaluated several other options before I found this. Its a little more expensive than some of the other no-name devices, but this one is the real deal. This device is small, maybe a little larger than a pack of gun and packs a solid punch. This device is blazing fast with USB 3.1. This device makes a great back up for your hard drive. As a PSA, always back up your hard disk. One day it will die and youll lose an important file or those cherished family picture. I wholly recommend this product for high density backup storage.

Appears to work fine

Bought two of these for use on RPi 4. Both worked very well for a few months. Then one started to report bad blocks and require fsck every boot. After a few days even this failed and the drive never worked again. The other one is still working fine after several months. So I gave 3 stars as average of 1 and 5.

I hooked this up to my 4k tvs usb input to play movies and videos. Tv had no problem recognizing it and it works like a charm. Most TVs must have it formatted in fat 32, so you must do that first if you are using on a TV. Also might have to be reformatted for a mac too, but thats a simple task. Gets a little warm, but never really hot. So small and compact, too. Very pleased with purchase.
