Qty(2) QiMox Hood Lift Supports Shock Struts Compatible with Toyota Avalon 2005-2012

I replaced both and about a week later one of them stopped working.

Had these installed in less than 10 minutes. They work like new.

I bought these a while back but never had a chance to install them. Finally, I got them installed in my daughters Avalon on Monday. Tuesday evening I went to raise the hood and couldnt. One of these new hood lifts was keeping the hood from lifting. After straining for several minutes, I finally got the hood open enough to take the struts loose. One seems to function fine. The other was stuck in the collapsed position. I tried, but could not pull the rod from the cylinder at all. It had failed right out of the box. I know I might have just gotten a dud. But failing in a way where you cannot open the hood is pretty bad. If I wasnt a big guy with some upper body strength, I would not have been able to get the hood up enough to take the failed hood strut loose.

Works like advertised. Great replacement for the car.

I had a little trouble with the clips. I pulled it put too far and broke it trying to put it back in. I just used the clip of the old one I removed. Watch some YouTube videos before installing.

Easy to install. They dont make my hood go up fast, but they do go up. And once they are up they hold strong.
