Greater than one weekIts been just a good keyboard. Its also unexpectedly heavy, so be ready for that. Also get a wrist pad if you dont float your wrists when typing. The software is primitive and the RGB spectrum isnt great. The color you select on screen often doesnt match what shows up on the keyboard unless you are close to a standard color, example, white is light purple, and the lighter you go on any color slowly turns into light purple. Has a twang that sounds like a spring being flicked in a metal box if you press the keys with normal typing force, so I constantly hear it. I hear people say its because the switches are seated in a metal frame, but I understand a common theme among higher quality mechanical keyboards is they are mostly metal, so Ill chalk this experience up to low build quality. Would be interesting to hear the switches in a plastic frame. They are also starting to develop a slight squeak. I havent tried lubing or isolation rings so not sure if that would help. I dont think the actuation force feels uniform across all keys. These brown switches have a barely noticeable ridge when pressed, my opinion is that they are just alright in terms of mechanical feel. It comes with other samples of switches, the blacks take more force but dont have a noticeable ridge when pressed, the reds just feel light and mushy, and the blue have a nice click that sounds similar to a mouse click but add in the twang and squeak issue I mentioned earlier and I dont think I could handle that... The caps lock indicator light will sometimes switch indication. Meaning when you press the caps lock key and the light turns on, youll be typing lowercase. It switches back on its own. I have no idea whats going on with that. This is my first mechanical keyboard, so I didnt want to spend a lot. You get what you pay for so thats why I rated 4 stars instead of 3, because a lot of this doesnt necessarily mean the keyboard is junky it just means it was constructed as a cheap mechanical keyboard. I went from low profile membrane to this and it definitely required a learning curve, but regardless of all of this I dont think Ill go back to membrane. In the future Ill just get something higher quality that has switches with more actuation force, less travel, and an ever so slight click if something like that exists.

> 3 dayArrived fast-packaged fine. I wanted a back lit keyboard for general typing and computer work. Had old basic keyboard for 12 years and wanted something new. I am a 65 year old female and just needed something that was easy to use and works good. I am not a gamer-So much to choose from-reviews where half good-half bad on all keyboards. Even expensive keyboards had bad reviews. Seems the better keyboards are gaming, mechanical and depend on type of key color so thought I would give this one a try. This is a very small keyboard and my hands feel cramped when typing. Although maybe it is because this is a benefit for gamers. Would have liked larger keys but this is a learning experience about keyboards. Mechanical keyboard with brown keys. Makes clicky sound when typing but this does not bother me. USB which is great-plugged in fine worked perfect. What I do not like is the instruction booklet-is not helpful and sort of confusing for how to set color of back light. I had to go to internet and watch videos on how to change and set color on keyboard. That was more helpful and then was able to understand instruction booklet better. Gave it a 4 Star because of instruction booklet. Does have nice colors and bright. Not sure about the wave of in and out of colors changing-hard on my eyes but maybe a gamer thing. I picked Red backlight and keep it set not to change. Just had to play with settings to understand how they work. Gave 4 star for instructions booklet. Will keep keyboard.

Greater than one weekI bought this keyboard because the one that came with my new PC had a weird problem with the space bar. I knew I wanted a mechanical keyboard eventually anyway, so after a TON of research, (learning about the dizzying array of features that modern keyboards can come with), I settled upon this keyboard from Red Dragon. I wanted a wired, full sized keyboard with backlit keys. After about two weeks of use, Im happy to say that I made a good decision. I was also surprised with how quickly the keyboard arrived after placing the order. The keyboard feels solid and well made, but still sleek and modern looking. While its a full sized keyboard, it doesnt take up a lot of real estate on my desk at all. It feels nice to type on, I enjoy typing and Im pretty quick. I havent had any problems with hitting the wrong keys or anything like that. Its also very satisfying, I like to hear the keys being pressed, so there is definitely a satisfying clicking sound, but I wouldnt say this keyboard is too loud at all. All the keys light up, there arent any dud keys. Backlit keys were important for me, as I like to use my computer in the dark. If you like to have cool lighting effects, this keyboard has a lot of different modes, and its easy to switch through them all. I prefer to have one solid color constantly, and I found the mode for that. You can also change the static color. I saw someone write in a review that they wanted a keyboard where you couldnt see lighting coming from underneath the keys, they just wanted the characters on the keys lit up. If that is something you are looking for, this keyboard is not for you. All the keys are raised up and there isnt any housing around the keys to stop the light from spilling out. This isnt a problem for me at all. Honestly, it looks pretty cool like this and its probably a way to keep the price down. As for some reviewers mentioning a ringing sound similar to a chain link fence being hit, I can definitely hear what they are talking about, but its honestly not very noticeable at all. While youre typing, you really have to be intensely listening for it to hear it at all. I brought my wife into the room to ask if she heard anything odd, and she said no. I then told her theres a ringing sound which she still couldnt hear. Then I hit the backspace and enter key harder than I normally would, and then she heard it faintly. I would never be hitting those keys that hard during normal use. She laughed and told me that its a silly complaint and one that she would never even notice. The only drawback on this keyboard is that there are no buttons to change your computer volume, or open up a browser, etc. But for me, Ive had keyboards with buttons like that in the past, and I never used them as much as I thought I would. My audio interface is always right in front of me, and it has a volume dial for that anyway.

Greater than one weekIt’s a decent keyboard and I enjoy how heavy it is. I already changed out the key caps and it’s stunning. However, it just came in the off the shelf box which means mine has some minor scratching where it got damaged during transport. Nothing awful, but it really annoyed me since it was preventable. Also, I’m just glad no one stole it with it being so obvious.

Greater than one weekI really like this keyboard, I pressed it about 2 years ago and it’s worked fine until recently. About 6 month to a year ago the F key stopped registering all the time. It was find with me because I used that key a lot. About 2 months ago the left shift key and D key started doing the same thing. Now the D key has stopped working. I generally love this key board and thinking of buying another. It was definitely worth the price.

> 3 dayI have only been using the Red Dragon K556 going on three days now but the seller is asking for an honest review. So far, I am very happy with the entire process. I had originally been looking for an office keyboard that had some sort of back lighting and I had gone through a couple of much cheaper options before upgrading to this one from Red Dragon. When I first opened the packaging it was shipped in, I was a little concerned due to the minimal packing materials but upon inspecting the keyboard itself, it was in perfect condition, not a dent or scratch to be found. This is the first keyboard I have used that has an aluminum casing, It is very sturdy and I like the heft of it when moving it around. It just feels like a well made piece of equipment. The keyboard stays in place on the desk and doesnt slide around. I read one reviewer who said that by sliding the keyboard on the desk, the plastic tilting tabs on the bottom tended to flip closed on one side or the other making the keyboard wobble. This, so far, has not been my experience. I am able to slide it around a bit without affecting the tilting tabs. When first plugging it in, I noticed the nice length of the USB cable. It is plenty long enough to reach my tower that sits about two feet over and one foot down and I still have a nice excess to move the keyboard around a bit. I knew before purchasing that there were many more lighting functions one the K556 but I dont think I appreciated just how many options you have with back lighting colors and patterns. There are 9 different solid color options and I have not even explored how many light pattern options there are. I can tell you that there seem to be many multi-colored options to choose from. I primarily like one solid color but it can be fun to explore all the different options when you just dont feel the work happening. All colors can be completely turned off or they can be set to any of five levels of brightness. This K556 came with brown switches which have proved to be exactly what I had been looking for previously. I didnt really know much about switch brands, such as outemu or cherry but this brown switch is much quieter than the previous blue I used. Mind you it is not silent but it doesnt make much more noise than a soft clicking. The keys are very responsive, being what I suppose is a tactile keyboard. I notice that when typing faster, I dont have to mash the keys. Its almost as if they are two stage keys where you can feel the halfway mark which is as far as I need to push to get a response. The keys spring back instantly and smoothly. I had read another review where the reviewer experiences some sort or ringing or vibrating sound (I dont remember exactly) but they thought it may have been related to the aluminum casing or something. (Again, I think I am remembering this correctly) I do not experience any other sound other that the keys making their normal soft clicking. I have not used this for gaming, hence the three stars for the gaming feature but I cant imagine it being a poor gaming keyboard. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase but again, I have only been using it for three days now. Customer service instantly emailed me to ask for a review and to assure me that they were available within 24 hours should I have any problems. Hopefully it wont come to that. All of this was to say that so far, I am very happy with this purchase am am hoping for long usage.

Greater than one weekThis is a great keyboard, and an amazing deal. You dont find many keyboards like this at this pricepoint. The keyboard is nice and heavy due to its metal body, and is built to last. There are 18 different lightning presets, plus adjustable direction, color, speed, and brightness for all of them! The RGB lights look awesome, especially at night. The switches are very nice to type on and for gaming. This keyboard is sleek and stylish, and definitely looks good! But there are a couple of issues (I will address them later.) As a side note, many people were saying that they got 8 extra brown switches while others were saying they got blues, which is strange because people are getting different switches. Personally, I got two spare reds, browns, blues, and blacks. The switches are all Outemu, for anyone wondering. Pros: -Nice, solid metal body -Adjustable feet with rubber pads -Looks awesome -Great RGB at a budget price -Outemu switches feel great -Double-injection molded keycaps that will last for a long time -Nice sturdy cable with gold-plated USB connector for stable connections -Font isnt all up in your face. (Cough cough, K95 Platinum.) -Spare keys (in my case it was better as a future reference to see which keys I might want to use) -Great overall Cons: -This one is nit-picking, but I will still mention it. The caps lock key doesnt have a light on it to indicate if its on or off. Theres a light on the top right of the keyboard, but Im used to it on the key itself, but thats just me. -No dedicated macro or media keys, but at $60 what do you expect? -No volume knob, also nit-picking -Instructions are unclear on how to remove the actual switches for replacing, ended up breaking one in the process. Good thing they included 2 spare browns. **-This one frustrated me a lot, and its that if you are holding shift while you backspace, it double backspaces. This is really annoying and has caused me several times to go back and forth with one word for a solid twenty seconds. Overall this is a great keyboard for the price and, even though there are a couple of cons, all the pros are still a great reason to buy it. So if you are looking for a budget mechanical gaming keyboard with RGB and a few extra features, this is definitely a good choice to pick up!

> 3 dayNgl this is my first mechanical keyboard so I’m no expert but I still really like it. I type a lot both for fun and for school, I haven’t had an issue with the keys or the board itself. It’s heavy because of the metal base but I’m not planning on carrying it around with me or travelling with it. I like the heaviness because it doesn’t feel like it’s going to break. Recommend
