Great Expectations 2023
> 24 hourSo Ive been building a gaming setup at home. I have bought and upgraded a Dell Inspiron 7577 (same as G5s now) over the past year, including buying a 120Hz LED panel upgrade (see review). I recently bought a MSI 32 curved gaming monitor and now wanted to complete the setup with a wired keyboard and mouse. Im a casual gamer and didnt really want to spend a lot for a setup. Originally, I was looking at keyboards alone for about $100 but then I decided to see if I could find a combo for cheap but well rated. I found this set and jumped at the chance. It was quite a bit cheaper than I had expected to pay but it also included a headset. Initial impressions were very positive. Product was packaged in a great box with each part individually segmented. No issues with damage, very nice product packaging, definitely not a fly by night company with made in china generic box packaging. So my comments are related to the cost that I paid. Im not going to expect the world of what I got b/c I know I didnt pay much at all. Keyboard is pretty nice feel. It of course is not mechanical with the clicking but though I would like that I was not willing to spend for it. Graphics are pretty classy and go with the red dragon I have for the MSI gaming monitor. The one major miss is there is no software for the keyboard and whatever customizations you set are lost the minute you reboot. LIke if you want a red keyboard all the time, you have to set it every time you start your computer, your laptop up. Mouse is similarly good. Default resolution is much higher than my normal office mouse so I had to adjust so that I could move the mouse at a speed I was used to. The headphones also look pretty understated but the sound quality is definitely meh. Again, Im fine with everything. I have a gamer setup for when I occassionally want to play games. It is not bad with the branding and graphics whereas there were many keyboards/mice that looked cheap or had horrid fonts/graphics. Cant speak to reliability and performance but will add that after a few months of gaming.

> 24 hourInexpensive yet is durable and works great ! Only thing I dont like is having to hold the FN key to control volumes settings or change backlight .. its flashing rainbow colors every time at startup, having many color choices is actually nice but wish it stayed on the last color you set it too , cause the blinking rainbow colors at startup are very annoying .. all you have to do is hold the FN key and push home and you go through the backlight colors. So its not a huge problem .. I go through a couple of keyboards a year .. even if they are fine I like them to look new at all times, I race online (Assetto Corsa-Forza-Grid-F1 2017) and rather than use a controller I bind the keys on the keyboard to perform the action I want them to, for example accelerate and steering are with the arrow keys I set brake to the space bar and shifting to letters Q & A .. my hands are too big for controllers and this way I get the same results .. in fact even better.... so the reason I say all this is I have had this about maybe 4 months .. no issues its tough and I still never lose a race .. okay once in a while I dont win ... lol but that wouldnt be the keyboards fault .. its been great .. Headphones arent bad either the sound is fine .. a little cheap on the build of them but for this price they are a million times better than I thought they would be!

> 24 hourSo, I got this keyboard set a while back for myself. The original one that came with the tower finally decided its time to start quitting on me. Saw this and thought Hey, this fits in with my budget more than perfectly! Tossed it in the cart and purchased. Fast forward to a week after and I notice it starts having an issue. Pressing the P key or barely even touching it sometimes will for some reason tell the keyboard to input a - along with the P. This issue got progressively worse over time, with the - getting set off before the p was even inputted. Right now, its gotten to the point that the keyboard decides to start putting in the - in a long string on its own, non-stop. I have to slap the area to get it to stop inputting - and then go back and run the backspace until its all deleted. Even then, merely touching the P key will set it off. By the way, its not just the P key that it does it with. Its been happening to me with the 0 key directly above it, but not on the numberpad. Here are a few samplings of whats been going on when the keyboard behaves somewhat; just pressing a single key: -0 0- 0- 0- -p-- -p- Im not having any issues with the headphones or mouse, and the mousepad is just a mousepad. It is very safe to say that if I could return this product, I absolutely would. Ive tried waiting it out and see if it would start functioning normally, but Im out of patience. I can also say that this keyboard alone turned me away from Redragon. I expect my keyboards to work properly; not this garbage. This is something I cant wish on my enemies. Im going to Corsair. Im even replacing the mouse.

> 24 hourJust some advise: -keep the mouse, its great -throw away the headphones, theyre horrible -give away the mouse pad to a friend -and keep the keyboard, because for some silly reason, it works extremely well!

> 24 hourGot this and was a bit disappointed by the brightness of the RGB. The logo on the top, and the number/F1-12 keys are lit at the bottom of the key, but not at the top. Very strange effect. Sent the first one back figuring it was a fluke, but no, the brightness just isnt sufficient to light the keys at the top of the keyboard all the way up. The mouse also has a logo where the brightness isnt even and fades out at the top. So if youre buying this for the RGB wow effect, maybe look elsewhere. That said, it is a good gaming keyboard/mouse combo. Smooth, no lag as its a physical input, and all that. I dont think youll see anyone winning tournaments with it, but for home gaming its fine. The headset is probably the best part. Very good sound quality for the price. The box does include a splitter so the mic/headphone jacks can be run into a single port if its available on your computer. Weirdly, if I dont use the splitter and plug it into the back of my computer, the sound is really soft. If I plug it into the front, its great. That might be my computer though.

> 24 hourIt’s nice and easy to set up but extremely difficult to play on but I was told it takes a lot of practice and getting use to it. Couldn’t figure out how to change the colors. Got it for my nephew and he only used it once.

> 24 hourThis all came bundled in one nice box. The keyboard feels excellent to type and play on, and its quiet which is great if you have an oversensitive mic. The mouse has a decent amount of buttons and feels fine in the hand, aside from the odd texture. The clicks and wheel feel solid. The headset is the worst part objectively. Its somewhat small, both on the head and ears, and the build quality just cant compare to the other peripherals included. It feels like any part of the whole headset may snap off at any time if youre not careful. The sound quality is average. Bass is fine, but highs are fairly muffled. Finally the mouse pad was much larger than I expected, which is pretty nice. Overall, Id say this set is a good buy if you want a sleek matching red theme throughout your battlestation, but if you dont care about that, youd be better off parting the keyboard and mouse and investing in a better headset.
