Replacement Sander Pad for Makita 743081-8, 743051-7 - Fit Makita BO5041/K, BO5010/K, BO5030/K, BO5031/K, XOB01Z Random Orbital Sanders - Standard 5 Hook and Loop Sander Pad

Didn’t hold on . Didn’t work .

Mounting holes dont line up. Hook and loop doesnt hold sanding pad (Im using new Diablo pads). Its cheap, but not worth the money.

Make certain that all three screws are started and threaded cleanly before tightening.

The screw holes in the disk did not line up with the mounting screw holes on the sander. I had to use a drill to make the holes on the disk oblong to fit the sander.

For Mikita BO5010KX, the three screw holes: 1) Size -> slightly smaller than the screw washer. Counter measure = pressing in the screw/washer with finger; 2) alignment-> 0.5mm-1mm off towards the edge. Counter measure = file the holes 0.5mm - 1mm more towards the center. Without doing this and trying to torque the screws in will likely strip the threads. Again for Mikita BO5010KX, the hard plastic backing plate center hole: Size -> ~0.2mm too small in radius, the aluminum ring’s protruding edge doesn’t fit in the the ring doesn’t sit flat on the pad. Counter measure = scrape the inner edge by ~0.2mm all around. If you come to buy the replacement pad, you are handy enough to handle this modification. However, product should be made in specs, at least for the model it claims to fit, so is the 3-star.

Item worked exactly as described!

Upon taking the pad out of the plastic packaging I noticed the pads hooks were not even as sharp as the wore out one that I was replacing on my Makita Orbital Sander. After installing this pad upon the VERY FIRST squeeze of the sander trigger the new sanding disc went flying off. I continued to try to use it but this pad will not hold the sanding disc on. I read other bad reviews and thought aww this wont happen to me, but it did. Dont let it happen to you. Avoid.
