The seals were open on this product and the package smelled terrible. If definitely did not come from a reputable seller of quality items.

Had to get one since price dropped recently from 25 down to 16 dollars. The Hyperkin one is decent for 13 bucks but this one is top notch for only 3 bucks more. First controller was DOA but sent back and few days later got one that works. It makes playing Castlevania Lecarde Chronicles 2 so much better with the way better d-pad and smoother buttons.

I think these controllers are high quality they look and play just like the originals and have long cord so buy it.

These look and feel identical to the original 6 button Genesis controller. I bought 2 of them for the Genesis mini. There isnt a whole lot of games on there that use 6 buttons, but theyre nice to have for the ones that do. My favorite controller is the 2nd generation Saturn controller, which is also available and works with the Genesis mini, but I wanted an authentic Genesis feel.

Always wanted a Genesis when I was younger, now I have one! I wish the Mortal Kombat games were on here and that the controllers were in the 6 button style, but other than that no complaints.

The build quality is comparable to original six button Genesis controllers, which isnt bad for the price since when you realize a decent condition six button Genesis controller is about $20. I wont say its better because I prefer the d-pad on my genuine controller, but it is at least above the quality of the cheap third party USB controllers that litter Amazon. With the good out of the way, I need to bring up the glaring issue that makes this controller nearly useless in my situation; the macro functions. I bought this controller for a fighting game for the PC which works best on six-button Genesis styled controllers. Half of the character palettes are selected by holding down the Start button then pressing a normal button (ABC or XYZ.) It just so happens that all of the macros are activated by holding down the Start button, so when I try to select the one that is bound to Start+A, the controller instead reads it as Alt+Tab on Windows, changing the focus to another window. I have also encountered a few undocumented macros like it opening Steams Big Picture mode and an on-screen keyboard. Thankfully, I had a workaround. I was able to rebind the games start button to the Mode button on the shoulder of the controller, which is the button that all of the macros should have been bound to in the first place if you ask me. The Mode button on the shoulder served a similar purpose on the original six button Sega Genesis controllers, though it was more for compatibility between different games if I recall. If not for having that workaround, I probably would have started a return for this controller. That might change if I find more hidden features that get in the way of using this for the game I originally bought it for. I think I still have some time to make that decision. With that said; if the manufacturer has people reading the reviews for this product, keep reviews like these in mind when designing future controllers. If you have some undocumented macro that turns off other macros you want to share, I would love to hear that as well. The manual says nothing about turning macros off which is frustrating to someone who just wanted a simple USB controller.

10 foot cable is out of control for USB version, Id only do that on OG Sega connector. Also, that mode button sucks as menu button on Genesis Mini. Get the Retrobit 2.4hz, it feels better overall, and the select button works better for menu, and has a turbo button on home. The case is awesome, and works with ease on Mini, PC, Pi and Switch. I actually think 8bitdos Genesis controller feels better but its not as authentic. I wanted 8bitdo Genesis bluetooth back in day but they sent me 2.4 so returned. Later, after Genesis Mini wanted the 8bitdo 2.4, and sent me a used one that was gross, and returned it after getting this controller, and ended up with the Reteobit 2.4hz, the best Genesis controller.
