Roxio Creator NXT Pro 8 | Complete CD/DVD Burning and Creativity Suite [PC Disc] [Old Version]

I picked this up originally to use to convert and burn disks for my kids. I didnt realize that it was kind of a psudo video-editor suite that also can burn disks and convert videos. While this software is fully featured; its also kind of a mixed bag. I noticed that hardware transcoding support isnt available in some instances and lots of things rely on the CPU still. Parts of the software look similar to the old Roxio suite I had years ago (almost a decade at this point) so I guess that is both a good and a bad thing. In the end its hard to really say who this suite is for; since most people dont do too much burning anymore I think that most people will not spend money on a burning suite. However when it comes to like video editing and transcoding; there are better free tools on the market for each of those. This is just has an advantage of being a suite that you just install and it contains everything. However the lack of hardware acceleration on all products (especially not for all GPUs either) makes it harder to recommend again because with most people using laptops these days; you definitely need hardware acceleration for laptops. All in all its not a bad suite of software; I am just not sure who the target audience these days really is.

Roxio has always made wonderful application suites (we have bought into it so many times throughout the years both here and personally). It has been a long time since we upgraded one of the machines to the latest version of a burning suite since there wasnt any need to (older versions worked just fine as is). We also stopped burning a lot of disks since we no longer rely on disk media for backups due to a very damaging experience with BDR media (we lost TBs of data due to bad disks). However, there is one on our staff that still uses DVD media for various projects both work-related and personal. So we upgraded the machine to the latest with this suite. Things have gotten so much better within the Roxio suite. The inclusion of PSP is a huge step in the kind of direction that competes with companies that offer large creative suites like Adobe (given, this suite is a little all over the place). What you get is fantastic. Normally you have everything from editing, to burning, to labeling. It just feels like you get that plus everything else that randomly falls out of the hat. Again, PSP is a fantastic inclusion as it is one of the strongest competitors to Photoshop. We have a few on our crew that swears by it (its always much more affordable too). Its nice to see HEVC support. It can be surprising that you still run into apps today that dont offer support for HEVC/H.265 yet even though it has been around as long as it has and so many devices support it. It is a fantastic codec that leads to rich lossless video while getting some of the best compression out there. So far it appears to be a fantastic suite of tools and applications. Sadly, this program is not working on my computer and gives me an error message every time I try to use it - stating I do not meet the requirements and my computer does in fact meet all said requirements to run the software.

I have been around computers for a lengthy time and have been using different programs to save and create my programs that I have from photos and other things which I like to have. This program is up to date and brings forth all the necessary tools to present those things which you want to save, share, and display on your websites. Easy to use, great instructions, and just the right thing which does not take up too much space in your computer. I highly recommend this program since it is current, uses your imagination, and allows you to learn new techniques!

this product i purchased i sent in a request for help because it would not download to my computer, says it is outdated. i spent a lot of money for something i cannot use and i asked for a refund or at least the right updated version. not fair to be taken with false claims like this. I need my money refunded. i sent in a complaint that said serial numbers were wrong on this product. you shouldnt be allowed to sell something that is outdated. Thanks Larry

It would be better if there was more control over font and color of Titles like in the older versions.

Thus us great till you have to change the display settings to get the movie maker to work under the right settings. It is fairly easy to use but can get pretty involved to make it work right. Otherwise it works as needed.

One of the best products I have used for disk copying. Handles all CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray DVDs. Good disk authoring and creation utilities or even your basic CD creation. The new version supports Windows10 64bit OS and seems so much more stable at this point. They just keep improving this excellent software.
