I got this umbrella in Navy Blue color for giving to our collegebound freshman. He likes the size, function, and color of it. It opens and closes easily, and Velcro fastening works well too. The design seems sturdy enough to withstand some strong winds without flipping over. However, the hanging loop depicted in the third picture on product page was missing in the umbrella we received. It came with all other paraphernalia (box, tote bag, deformable packing case), some of which arent really necessary. Once you fold the umbrella, it is time consuming and hard to squeeze it back into the small deformable case for storage. So, my wife took the string from the case and attached it to the umbrella handle itself (it has a small hole just enough to push in the string, see pic). Now we can simply hang the umbrella on a hook. The bonus tote inclusion was a nice surprise. Not sure how many noticed, but their warranty is great! It says we offer a 3-year replacement and refund warranty with no return required.

This is a mini umbrella that has to be seen to be believed. This manages to combine both high quality construction with almost surreal size to produce an outstanding miniature umbrella. I have installed it as part of my book bag kit, since it is great to have such a tiny umbrella taking up such a small space. And when I say space, I mean the size of the collapsed umbrella, not the size of the opened umbrella. It is actually a pretty large umbrella once opened. It is not a perfect umbrella, however. Having lived in Chicago from 1981 to 2013, Im very conscious about whether or not an umbrella has a wind slot. While I love this umbrella, if I were to try to use it in Chicago or Cleveland or New York or any of Americas windier cities, it would die on the spot, because the construction has no way to accommodate especially powerful winds. I now live in Little Rock, Arkansas, which is not a particularly windy city, but if you live in a windy area, I cannot recommend this umbrella. It is great for less windy cities, but it wouldnt make it past a single use in Chicago. But now Im in Little Rock, and here it is an outstanding umbrella.

This was the lightest umbrella ive seen and super cheap. It came with a lame bag which i wont use. Hope it holds up in the mountain wind backpacking

I use my umbrella at my job as your guide. Needed something small to carry in satchel. This one is and has worked in the situations it was needed. Cannot say how it would work with heavy usage.

This is a super-compact, lightweight umbrella. It comes with two covers -- one is the conventional umbrella cover, and then over that is a cover that coverts into a tote. This Rumbrella is sturdy and well made. It is NOT automatic, but easy to open and close. I have owned many umbrellas, in part, because I dont drive and so I rely on walking and public transport. Even if theres a tiny chance of rain, I bring an umbrella with me. I like to travel light, and I tend to use small umbrellas unless I know for sure that it will be windy and rainy (then I bring out the Big Handle umbrella). My usual compact umbrella is a Totes, which you can see on the left in the photo. It is less expensive, but it is less sturdy and a little smaller. It actually weighs about an ounce more than this Rumbrella one (approximately, based on my holding one in each hand and comparing). The other, stellar thing about this Rumbrella is UV protection. As a melanoma survivor (10+ years!), I avoid going outside during midday hours, April-Oct. But sometimes it cant be avoided, and I totally cover up with sunscreen, hat, etc. This Rumbrella will be an excellent added layer of protection. Again, I LOVE that it is so small and I can keep it in my bag just in case.

This umbrella is convenient and ideal as one to easily carry around and have it not take up much space. It is very small in size and lightweight. When opened it protects well. It is adorable for it comes in fun colors and came in a matching colored bag that was inside another heavier black bag. Now this umbrella is perfect for its intended purpose which for me is to have on hand for when the occasional shower happens. It is not strong and sturdy enough to be your main umbrella in a winter storm or with heavy winds. But especially on vacation it is perfect to have on hand to just pop out and up when there is a quick shower. And I travel to warm climates in September when this happens a lot. Highly recommend.

Ok, I am superstitious. I would NOT test this out in the house, I went into the garage. For an adult, this works fine as all adults should know how to operate this type of umbrella. This is probably not the best for kids though as they may not be able to figure it out unless you show them and they may get confused/forget. It works fine, comes in a case and also a zippered bag too. I have the other version for my son with the push to open button and this one I am keeping for myself. These are extremely light weight and can be kept anywhere because of its small footprint. I cant say that it has kept me dry just yet, but I feel better knowing it is always available in the car door slot should I need it...
