I connected the drive via a USB cable to my Toshiba Satellite C55-C and installed both the Magician and cloning software. I rebooted and made sure that the cloning software was the only thing running and put the laptop on airplane mode so it wouldnt be interrupted. Two hours after the start it was at 99% complete and a few minutes later it reported that the operation was interrupted. The event manager reported the following:

Time to get the cheap SSD out of my refurbished system and of course go with a Samsung unit. I dont need to go into the quality of the drive. It speaks for itself. What I will remark on is the software available from Samsung to copy OS image from old drive to new. Have been working on systems for over 25 years in both residential and business settings, so Ive dealt with quite a few applications that will transfer OS/data from one drive to the next. The migration software package worked like a charm on transferring all my data over to the Samsung SSD and making available to rest of the drive without any more modifications. The Samsung Magician seems to be a nice bit of kit also, so time to play with it also. Well done Samsung.

Finally got around to upgrading the lab workhorse to SSD. Wish I had done it sooner.

Jai essayer de le poser moi même (cela na pas fonctionner), jai faite appelle a un professionel. Suite a son passage je nai rien a dire de négatif du ssd, mes jeux roulent plus, jai doublé mon espace de stockage. Je le recommende fortement pour le rapport qualiter/prix!

The SSD drive works well on my laptop. Really fast startup. I made an image of my old drive and installed the image on the SSD. Swapped the drives and it worked fine. (Can’t do this on some of the newer laptops that don’t allow changing drives.)

I bought this SSD to upgrade my Asus laptop. It did take about four hours to clone my HDD to this SSD. I used the free software from the Samsung site and it was seamless. When the cloning was finished, installed the SSD and my laptop booted up in 15 seconds. Photoshop, Lightroom and other large applications respond very fast
