I was tired of having to delete games to be able to update Call of Duty. This SSD allows the flexibility of keeping games on my PS5 and not having to worry about storage at all. I have most of my games moved over to the SSD now and the process was so quick. The install was very easy and the longest part was figuring out how to remove the PS5 cover without breaking it. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their PS5 storage.

The heatsink is not needed… The speed is fantastic.

Ive bought Samsung SSDs for years due to their reliability and speed. This is no exception.

Used it in an HP notebook PCIe gen 3 and worked perfectly, at 3500 Mbps sequence read and write. No problem with the temperature for the moment.

I gave 4 stars only because I ordered w/heatsink and it doesn’t fit under my laptop access cover. Consider when buying because if I had known the heatsink was going be an issue being too bulky/tall I would’ve ordered without. I’m concerned over time the plastic cover will warp or melt pressed against the heatsink. Other than that it’s lightning fast and scored high on Tom’s Hardware. It puts out some heat but I bought a laptop cooler to mitigate any overheating issues. You can never go wrong with Samsung quality products and I highly recommend as an alternative to the more expensive 990 Pro.

In total, I have three of these now. Two are in Z690 motherboards (one with an i7-13600K and another with an i5-12600K) and the other is in a Z390 (i5-9600K). For the i7 machine, the SSD is in the M.2 slot connected to the CPU directly and for the i5, its connected via the chipset. After running Crystal Disk Mark a couple of times there is no performance difference (indiscernible or otherwise) between the drive connected to the CPU directly (with the i7) and the drive connected to the chipset (with the i5). Both get close to 7GB/sec read times. Write times are about 4.5GB/sec, which is way faster than anything I need. Even though Im not totally blown away by their performance, theyre still very good SSDs.

I use this as extra storage for PS5, simple installation as well as built to act as a heat sink. Works great!
