> 3 daySo my work computer is my notebook and when Im at home I prefer to have it hooked to my monitor desktop monitor and rely on multi-channel peripherals, so switching between work and play is somewhat seamless. Thats the background. So I dont have a lot of experience with desktop monitors (this is my second in about 3 years and the one I had before this was a cathode-ray monitor hooked up to my Windows Vista desktop) so you can take everything I say about picture, size, etc well salted. That being said, I actually love this thing. Its a little on the large side for my tiny cubby of a desk, but its great. The picture quality is great. I love playing video on it, all that good stuff. Also, having two HDMI connectors does not hurt when youre switching between screens. The bevel size is an improvement on my old monitor, but it comes with the drawbacks. The buttons for the monitor are located on the back, which is a design protocol that I hate, and always have hated, but that is neither here nor there. My problem is that markings on the front of the bevel, denoting which button is which, are nigh invisible. I can only see them if I move my body so that its at a certain angle and I am staring straight at them. As such I prefer to go by feel, and I usually get it right. Switching between screens could be easier, and cant be done in less than three button pushes. It is stable: Ive only had the screen crash once switching between my desktop and my laptop, and its a lot easier to reset the connection when its and HDMI cable as opposed to a DVI. All in all the negatives are minor for me, but I guess worth taking a star off. Still, I would recommend this if youre in the market for a cheap monitor.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitor if you set expectations based on its price. I purchased this to replace a 10 year old Samsung monitor, and Im completely satisfied. Im using this screen with a laptop for school work and some gaming and Im planning on buy a second one once its in stock again. I didnt realize it supported freesync until I got it, price was my main purchase motivator. I guess the freesync feature is nice, and I got lucky since I have an AMD card that supports it. It seems that the design has changed though, the photos of the inputs are not what I got. Same inputs, but theyre not rear facing, theyre facing downward. I would have preferred rear facing inputs. To properly cable manage the HDMI cord with out it being seen I felt like I had to bend it too close to the connector. Potential buys be aware of that, Ive actually never seen IO on a monitor that faces downward.

Greater than one weekPros: Huge! Matte screen lots of inputs. Slim bezel, Mine came with a DVI to HDMI cable, no HDMI Cons: Buttons on the back. Power adapter is a wall-wart. Stand a bit wobbly My biggest issue with this monitor is the buttons being located on the back. If using multiple of these ( I have 2 side-by-side in landscape) the buttons are a pain in the ass to use. I use one as dual purpose for a PC and RPI. To switch inputs is an exercise in contortion if you use the left monitor as I do. I would have preferred them on the bottom edge but I have the feeling this was done so these screen could mounted in portrait with multiple monitors. If the buttons had be arrange horizontally instead of vertical this would be less of an issue. The power brick that comes with these monitors is the wall-wart kind where the plugs are on the brick. I would have liked to see a brick with a short pig tail like a laptop brick so less outlet space is taken up. the cable is plenty long enough however. The stand was super easy to attach and in the future I expect it to be just as easy to remove should I need to. However it is a bit wobbly at the point where the stand attaches to the monitor. Though I attribute that to it being such a large monitor and there will be some flex no matter what. It is by no means excessive. Some day I may buy monitor arm so its great that there is a vesa mount option. I so far I love these monitors. The brushed look and matte screen make them look very clean. For anyone concerned they would look very smart in a business setting. These are the first screens Ive bought brand new for personal use and I have no complaints. I use my PC for coding, 3D CAD, Wed surfing, movies/Youtube and some light gaming and everything looks great. They are supper bright. I may attempt to do a color calibrating but Overall Im happy with the current setting. I did change to the Movie setting with bluelight shift 30%

> 3 dayHonestly, it’s a pretty solid monitor for the price. Only thing i have to say is that the speakers are low quality, but other than that the picture quality is good for what it’s worth (even a little better).

> 3 dayThis is a great budget 1080p monitor. I use this as a secondary monitor to help with multi-tasking and also have my PS4 connected to it. There are obvious pros and cons to this monitor, but keep the price in mind. Pros: Matte finish to help against glare Plenty of options to adjust picture Blue light shift has multiple levels of adjustment to make picture warmer if desired VESA mountable Built in speakers Price Cons: Speaker output quality LED indicator (subjective) For an IPS panel (stated by vendor in questions section) this doesnt have the greatest viewing angles The included stand is a bit wobbly All ports face downward (subjective) The Pros of the monitor are pretty self explanatory so Ill go over the cons. -Although advertised as a 75 Hz monitor, its running at 60Hz in 1080p. But this could possibly be due to the cheaper hdmi cable I got for this monitor. -The speakers dont have the greatest sound quality, but I didnt expect much for the price. The speakers work fine if you just want to hear something from your game, but I dont recommend them as primary audio output. -There is an LED indicator on the bottom right corner (LED projects light downward) that illuminates solid blue when it receives signal, blinks blue when its awake and awaiting signal, and is solid red when the monitor is off/asleep. -Like mentioned above, the vendor answered a question about the panel and stated its an IPS panel. I also have an LG 27GL83A-B IPS monitor and the viewing angles are much better than the spectre. But again, keep the price in mind. -The included stand is a bit wobbly but I ended up mounting this monitor so I stored the stand. This monitor did not include hardware to VESA mount so ensure the monitor mount/stand has hardware or get hardware. -The power, HDMI, and VGA port face downwards so you may need 90 degree adapters for the HDMI ports to prevent the cables from sticking out from the bottom of the monitor. -Something else noting is the buttons on my monitor are in a horizontal orientation, but still in the bottom right corner. OVERALL: I researched a bit before deciding on this monitor and Im very happy with my purchase. Ive already recommended this monitor to other friends looking for a budget friendly 27 monitor and if I had to do it over again Id still stick with this monitor.

11-06-2025I bought this to use as an external monitor for my MacBook Pro and am disappointed. I wasnt expecting the resolution of an apple studio display, but the display quality on this Sceptre monitor is really poor. Text appears grainy and difficult to read and the ghosting even with the anti ghosting / gaming features turned on is awful. I bought this because I dont really do any gaming and just needed a larger display to setup on my desk to use my slicing softwares for 3d printing. Im using Lychee to place supports on models and the graininess of this makes it kind of painful on your eyes to place supports with precision unless you zoom WAY in. The brightness is fine and is comfortable to look at. It has a night shift type of feature built in, but you have to change this manually and it wont automatically switch when your computer switches and there is no ambient light detection to help it either. The speakers built into this monitor are exactly what you would expect for speakers built into a 100 dollar monitor. Theyll work in a pinch but this is not something you want to expose your ears to for a long period of time, unless youre okay with a low volume tinny output. The ports available to use on this monitor are great as well, but not of enough of a plus to outweigh the cons of its primary function as a display. Lastly, the stand included with the monitor is flimsy and on a super sturdy table top that doesnt have any give or movement, the stand on this monitor still wobbles at the slightest vibration. Reminds me of a jello mold the entire time Im using it. Overall, super disappointed with this display and I may repurpose it for use in my garage to play some workout videos off of a Roku or an Apple TV.
