works great! never fails me and holds all the games I couldnt have before. super reliable! easy to install as well. i had it for a couple of months and the only downside is sometimes when I turn of my ps4 and go to play one of the games its super glitchy. i just restart my ps4 and it works normal again. doesnt happen very often at all maybe like once ever 2 months which I dont mind.

This was super easy to set up and my PS4 did it automatically for me. I love that you dont have to plug into an outlet and it only needs the PS4 or PS5 to power it. It does take a long time to upload games into it but can do it in the background while you are doing other things. I havent downloaded anything off of it yet. Looks exactly like in all the pictures.

This is a nice external drive for storing whatever you need one and has tons of space. However, its listed as a gaming drive and its about the worst thing for gaming! I can barely run small games off it without it constantly lagging and freezing causing the game to not respond. I currently have about 5 small Renpy games on it taking up less than 5 GB of space and its already struggling to keep up because the transfer rate isnt great. I am partially to blame though as I know SSD is the way to go and SATA cant handle games any newer than like 2008 lol I would recommend as a good priced external for an 8 TB but defiantly not for gaming.

Plug in, format the drive, and you are good to go. For anyone not clear on format; the PS4 does it for you. Just follow the prompts in the system settings menu. The whole process literally only took a few minutes. The PS4 continues to operate the same, so the user view doesnt change. Once setup, just continue your normal routine. Heres the thing...this external HD does not go into a sleep mode on its own. It depends how you have your USB ports configured. This can also be adjusted in the system settings. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Especially if you dont want the external HD running 24/7. There are some great vid tutorials online for your reference.

I would definitely recommend this product if you have a lot of ps4 games. This works great on ps5 too!

If this drive is a USB 3.2 then its an awfully slow one. Below are CrystalDiskMark results of this FireCuda drive, a USB 3.0 external hard drive and an actual USB 3.2 external SSD, shown in that order. These drives were all hooked up to the same USB A jack on my interface card, which is supposed to be USB 3.2, even though the driver says 3.1. The SSD (last image) shows the interface is well capable of 1Gbs read and write transfers. The USB 3.0 drive (second image) is actually a tad faster than this FireCuda (first image) except when it comes to random read/write, which are always really slow on mechanical hard drives. Im only writing this review to alert potential buyers that the USB 3.2 selling bullet is pretty much useless and deceptive. You will be getting nothing faster than a USB 3.0 drive. Im only keeping mine because an 8TB external hard drive with RGB priced at $170 is a decent deal.

Easy to use, fast setup, and above all it didnt crash out every two seconds like those pesky ones that plug in and take three times longer to upload and download the data. For some reason you cannot go wrong with this sleek, small, and darn impressive drive. If you are worried about ports like I was, then get a simple PS4 bridge and then plug the hub into into that directly. Bam, you have your drive directly connected and your PS4 is expanded to 3x as many ports than before. Do not let those dang mounts fool you. Just make your own stand and you can plug any portable hard drive in you like. In my case even though I carefully researched, my first was a hard nope and I still ended up with the better PS4 drive in the end. Dont skimp out, you will be pleased with the quality of the product.
