This thing is too expensive to only be usable for 15 minutes max. The suction is really decent (does not like to get anything bigger than rice though) but its not super pet hair friendly, its not like particularly better at getting pet hair than any other vacuum even with accessories. I bought it in June of 2022 and this month its decided its done. I can have it charging for two days and it dies as soon as I pull it out. The filters clean, I empty it frequently, its cute and convenient just really wish it was more powerful and lasted longer. I can only get small sections of things done at a time. Not expecting it to be a full sized vacuum but I am expecting it to last more than 10-15 minutes.

Lets face it: meal times with toddlers are frequently messy occasions. Our daughter is particularly skilled at generating incredible amounts of crumbs, especially when she attacks her meals with techniques borrowed from the Cookie Monster school of table manners. Ah well, at least its cute to watch. It does, however, leave an aftermath of crumbs and culinary debris that need to be dealt with. You could, of course, use a whisk broom and dustpan, paper towels, or other tools for the task, or you could use a vacuum cleaner and just get it done. The problem with most vacuum cleaners is that you have to haul the large unit out of the cleaning closet, plug it in, and re-wind the cord afterwards. Thats a lot of effort just to clean up some crumbs. Enter the Shark Ion W1: a handheld, cordless, incredibly easy-to-use vacuum cleaner for small jobs. And just like that, the annoyance of having to drag out the big tool just to clean up my daughters post-meal rubble is gone. Heres why I really like this vacuum cleaner: 1) Its extremely easy to use. It has two buttons. Yes, TWO. One of them is the power button, which you press to turn the device on and off. The other is the button that opens the canister so you can empty it. The two buttons look a lot alike and are right next to each other, so fortunately the canister-emptying one is more of a slide than a button, which prevents you from opening the canister when you dont intend to. 2) Its very lightweight, which makes it super easy to wield. I find it to be the perfect overall length; its long enough to grab some crumbs off the floor without too much exertion, but still short enough to feel like a compact unit. 3) It has two useful attachments. One is an upholstery-type tool, and the other is a narrow-opening crevice tool. The latter has a really neat little brush that flips down when you need it - a great way of getting two tools in one. 4) It has a very convenient charging station with a small footprint. Just drop the vacuum into the slot in the charger and it will be ready for the next mess. 5) Its easy to empty: Just hold it over a trash can, press the release button, and the canister opens up to empty its contents. 6) The filter is easy to clean: just pop it out and shake it over a trash can. 7) Reminder instructions on how to do things like open the filter cover, remove the filter, and clean the filter are printed right on the device. Very handy! Anything I dont like about this vacuum cleaner? A few small picky things: 1) Its not a loud device, but its noise can be a little annoying; its surprisingly high pitched and kind of whiny. 2) I wish there was a way to mount it on the wall! I would love to have this thing on the wall of our laundry room instead of having to find a small shelf space for it. ----------------------------------------------------------- A FEW TIPS FOR USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER ----------------------------------------------------------- - When using the brush attachment, if you hold the unit too vertically the suction wont be effective because the suction opening will be too far above the surface you are cleaning (see my photo which demonstrates this). If you have it angled more than about 45 degrees youll lose suction power. Unfortunately this means you may have to bend over quite a bit to vacuum things off the floor. - There is a hinged flap inside the vacuum which you can see when you open the filter cover (show in one of my photos). I found that debris tends to accumulate around this hinge, so you may want to check it and clean it out periodically. Overall Im very pleased with this little cleaner. Its not something you would use as your primary vacuum cleaner, but for small messes it is absolutely fantastic.

...in the best way possible. I got tired of struggling alond with a dust buster that never really cleaned and I had units that didnt work so I had to return them. Over Christmas I was visiting a friend and she whipped out this sleek little number. She said it changed her cleaning life. So I got one and have not looked back, I actually get a kick out of using it because it sucks stuff up so well. A must for a cat owner who battles litter tracking!

Looks like it was a return and not exactly new, but works fine

Love this vacuum for our hardwood stairs and kitchen tile floors. It’s powerful, rechargeable and good looking. Just pay attention which button you’re going to push or you may end up emptying the contents onto the floor.

I like the SUCTION !! not loud, easy to clean. MY main purpose for buying my Shark ion W1S87 is to clean around the litter box. (Working great) I ordered extra filters and a little brush to clean the filters with. Im most pleased. The Cat doesnt mine the Vac, either, its not loud, so he approves too. Dee

We’ve tried other hand vacs and this is the best! Great, sleek design, easy to store and handle. Suction is strong for a hand vac and cleans well for the small things we use it for. Don’t expect the power of a full size vac. We use ours to clean up crumbs, dirt, and husky fur in corners, nooks, and crannies. Definitely recommend!

This is great for spot cleaning crumbs, dog hair etc from my hard floors, table tops and my sons play pen. However the battery does die quickly so I have to turn it off and on while I move from one area to another to make it last long enough. Probably no more than 10 minutes. Suction is very good but when you put on the long extension attachment I feel its not as strong. I like that its light weight, easy to clean the bin and has useful attachments.

Its lightweight and I was able to vacuum the stairs easily. The vacuum I have is heavy and hard for me to use on the stairs.

I know I know, no mother should ever get a vacuum for mothers day, however, after she had seen one at her moms house, she wanted one. She loves it, its kept in the pantry so its small enough to fit but hidden so that guests cant see. Saves so much time on picking up little messes instead of having to get the big vacuum clean out.
