Greater than one weekI had never seen one of these before until I ran into a friend with one at an event where it was pouring down rain. She demonstrated how handy it was so I ordered one the next day. I have used it a handful of times and absolutely love it ... it makes a big difference especially getting in and out of the car during a downpour. I have found it to be sturdy, easy to operate, and I love all the different designs you can choose from. What I dont like about it is the fact that it is so large I cant shove it under the seat when not in use; I dont love the handle, but havent tried using it the way it was advertised to be used ... by sliding it on your wrist, and there is a small plastic ring that came lose from the extension pole ... but it does not seem to be affecting the operation of the umbrella. Since I bought my own I have also purchased one as a birthday gift, and already have three more in my cart as Christmas gifts.

> 3 dayI live and work in a desert climate where temperatures reach 130+ degrees Fahrenheit. I needed an umbrella to provide added protection from the sun. This umbrella seems to shade more than a traditional rain umbrella and does not allow as much heat through. As for wind proof it is hard to handle in the wind. It’s too strong to fight sometimes because of the double layers, so I have to put it down when it’s too windy. The locking mechanism that holds the umbrella open is very sensitive. If you don’t push it just right you have to try several times to lock open. The handle is a bit awkward to hold. I find myself holding above the round handle. It is however nice to be able to hang it from your wrist when you need your hands free. All and all, I do like this umbrella and I love the colors. It is bigger than it looks on the pictures and I do get lots of compliments...

> 3 dayI went to church during Easter vigil where candles were used. A flicker from candle touched umbrella and puff it went up in fames. Just wanted to let manufacturer know it is not flame retardant.

Greater than one weekI cannot be in the sun and hats hurt my head. My daughter saw these amazing umbrellas and bought me one to use on outings to the park, amusement park, shopping, etc. I was really surprised by how well it worked! The umbrella has a little weight to it, but I got used to that after the first use. I found that I did not hold the umbrella by the C handle, as I felt the weight might snap the C handle off from the pole. (I had also read reviews that said the C handle broke off and for this reason took away a star). It felt most comfortable holding the umbrella pole just above the C handle. When in the ladies room, I could be hands free by putting my hand thru the C and carrying the umbrella on my wrist. This feature is great when shopping, looking at items, paying, etc. The velcro strap keeps the umbrella closed and easy to carry or store. I love the leaves on the interior - outside it makes me feel like I am under the trees. The opposite way the umbrella closes takes a little getting used to from a standard umbrella. But, after several openings and closings, you get the hang of it. Love this umbrella - rain or shine!

Greater than one weekTake it from me: I grew up in one of the rainiest places on Earth. We almost get scuba licenses with our drivers licenses, okay? The Pacific Northwest tests any umbrella to the hilt, and this lovely specimen holds up against the hardest pelt, persistent drizzle or monsoon bombardment of November with grace. It dealt with Midwest summer thunderstorms better than much bigger, fancier umbrellas and Im still chuckling dry (mostly) on a windy, wet day in November. This storm reminded me to write my review. Its held up where other lesser umbrellas would have turned inside out or simply cowered in the closet. Not so my trusty inverted Parisian umbrella! The inverted umbrella design is long overdue for a wave of popularity, partly because functionality and form are not sacrificed. Having the inverted form allows for multiple layers, assuring you wont get wet nor will you spray everyone in a ten-foot radius by simply opening or shutting the thing. The handle is great if you need to get a firm grip or hang a small bag from it on your walk. Sometimes you just need your hands free, and the C grip is soft, supple, and durable. I drop a star from this for the inherent weakness of the metal tips on the tines. If one of those gets knocked off, it very easily disrupts the outer skin of the umbrella. Tension declines, but trying to wrestle that tip back into place can be arduous and painstaking work without tearing or breaking something.

> 3 dayFirst, this item was purchased as a Christmas gift. I was going to leave it in the corrugated box and cover it with holiday wrapping but was prompted to open the contents, as the seller emailed me for my opinion about the product. The couple who will receive this reverse umbrella will use it for shielding against the rain, so the Sun Protection category was not completed. Also, the durability factor cannot be determined as of this writing as this umbrella has not yet been put to the test by the recipients over a duration of time. Be that as it may, my first impressions are: 1) it seems to be well-constructed, 2) it effortlessly locks into the open position very smoothly and quietly without the click one would normally hear with a conventional umbrella and 3) the open C handle will make it convenient for my friends wife if she uses the umbrella and needs to hang her purse on the handle. Shipping was very expeditious as I am not in one of the lower 48 states. Based upon the online reviews, I was going to buy two when placing my Amazon order but encountered a cap of one per customer.

> 3 dayMatte/satin grip peels after 2 separate uses of getting wet. Im going to repaint it and see if it holds up. Shiny slick plastic underneath. Good size not too big or small imo. Handle is convenient for looping over your forehand but must rest it against your neck/shoulder to keep it in place. Didnt test in extreme wind but a couple gusts I felt try to pull it away from me and the top seemed to vent just fine. Even if it flips upwards thats how its meant to fold anyway.
