I wanted to add this item to my diagnostics kit. It should be helpful when I get to use it.

Easy to use and fool proof design. Made it simple to check all the outlets for a new house the we purchased. Actually was able to find several outlets that were wired incorrectly and able to get seller to repair then before the closing on our pre closing inspection.

This product has worked every time I needed it to. Great for testing GFCI outlets. Came in handy when troubleshooting a wiring issue on an electric scissor lift. I thought the wiring to the platform for AC voltage was faulted. Turned out my known good extension cord was cut internally and did not have a ground. The tester showed this immediately. Then I verified with a meter. I also use this for rental generators to verify a voltage output and test GFCI functionality. Works awesome for a quick check.

I set out on the adventure of replacing the old dark brown AC receptacles in our den, which used to have dark wood paneling on the walls. The room is now white, so the dark brown switches and AC outlets stick out like sore thumbs. This outlet tester has been an invaluable tool in the process. Not only can I make sure that I turned off the correct circuit at the breaker box, but it also let me know that I didnt properly secure a neutral wire on one of the receptacles, which made all of the other outlets in the room read as hot/ground reversed. That would have been difficult to diagnose for an amateur like myself if it werent for the tester readout. I also got a contact-less tester, which has been a huge help in making sense of the puzzling wiring decisions that the builders made in parts of our 40-year-old house. Between these two tools, Ive been able to safely and (somewhat) confidently meddle with the AC outlets and light switches in our house.

This is great for checking and replacing receptacles. You can be sure that youve turned off the right breaker before getting to work. You can be sure youve wired things correctly when youre done. Its easy enough to use that you wont be tempted to cut corners with your safety.

Awesome tool. We have been struggling with our electrical outlets working and nit working. With this tool you can check your plug outlets know if they are wired right or not. It sure has saved us a lot of time.
