Used this to isolate the problem with an outlet and fixed it myself, and saved $$$ I would have paid an electrician.

This little tester is great for testing any socket for correct wiring and tests correct wiring for gfi circuits. Well worth the money.

This outlet tester functions much like those you can buy at Loews or Home Depot. What sets this one apart is the convenient GFCI test button. And at a price equal to those sold without that feature.

This is a good tester aside from the fact some readings may give false positives. It told me i had hot/ground reverse when i really had a missing neutral.

This tool does what it is designed to do. Read the design parameters. This is a basic tool....detects common defects. Keep in mind that poorly installed electrical systems can have a baffling combination of errors. If the solution to your problem is not immediately apparent...seek qualified help!!!
