Item wasnt new - it was previously opened. Typical fireplace key other than that. Some paint scraped from previous use confirmed it was used item right out of the shipping envelope.

Beefier key than was supplied by contractor plus was long enough to reach the valve unlike the 8in supplied by him. Nice product.
