> 3 dayDarn, these tools are hard to find at a reasonable price. It took quite a bit of searching on Amazon to find it. This is a tool specific to fascia boards that are generally 3/4 to 1 inch thick. This drills the hole through the board with a counter sink for the screw and starts the hole into the supporting sub structure. Then, if you use the correct screw, the screw head is flush with the board surface. Getting the correct screw can be a problem too. Many of the screws are for 1-1/2 inch thick sub fascia and are much too long for thinner sub fascia boards. The screws purchased with this are 1-7/8 inches in length and will just barely penetrate through the 1-in. thick fascia and the 1-in. thick sub fascia boards. The screws are stainless steel and will be used with PVC fascia boards. Glad I found it on Amazon for half the price of other sellers.

Greater than one weekAs another reviewer said, shavings get caught up in the bit. I didnt have an issue with it damaging the fascia, but it would lessen the effectiveness of the bit. To manage, I pulled off shavings from the bit after every hole drilled which wasnt as bad as it sounds. If you dont remove the protective plastic from the Trex fascia, it can get caught up in the bit and cause issues as well. I left the plastic on to remove at the end and it worked out. After using this to drill about 50 holes, the drill bit fell out. I didnt have the SAE hex bit to tighten it down at the time, so I pushed the bit back in and it seemed fine. Later on, the bit fell in the grass and I lost it. I couldnt find 1/4 bits this short at the hardware store, so I had to use a bit from a hole-saw kit I had. Even that was too long and I had to cut off some of the shaft to get it to the right depth. Had me wishing the kit came with at least an extra bit and the allen wrench to secure it with. Otherwise, it did the job as expected. Another review complained about the diameter of the hole it makes, but the description says this is to allow for expansion/contraction. It didnt cause me any issues.

> 3 dayThe cutting edge on this bit doesnt last long at all! Especially disappointing when considering that it is only drilling in plastic!
