SteelSeries Rival 100, Optical Gaming Mouse - Alchemy Gold

> 3 dayIve been a fan of budget gaming mice for a while now. It started with my Roccat Lua which lasted me 4 years. It eventually broke but that was my own fault, not a problem with the mouse. I needed a new one and wanted to try something new. A couple days ago I ordered a steel series Rival 110 because I read good thing is about it. Using the Roccat Lua as a benchmark, I would have to say this mouse is a steal for $30. Like the Lua, it is very ergonomic with smooth curves that fit my large hands very well. It is a bit larger than the Lua which is quite a small mouse so Id say the Rival is a pretty medium size. The buttons and scroll wheel all feel solid yet subtle; theyre pretty much perfect. The sensor seems to be as accurate as anyone could want it to be. Lastly, it seems very well built. Over-all it is a joy to use and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. If youre looking for a budget gaming mouse that performs above its weight, look no further. This thing is awesome.

> 3 dayWonderful little mouse! Do note that you can actually change the color on the LED. I got the gold one and was a bit worried about the colors shown in the product preview, but I changed it to a lovely blue color. You can even make it do crazy color cycles and stuff. Feels very comfortable and easy to use.

> 3 dayIts definitely NOT for people with small hands. Although the width isnt that wide, the length is longer than Id like for constant use. The top is a matte finish which makes me feel like its always dirty. I prefer a smoother finish. Guess the matte is better for gamers but Im a designer so that extra grip isnt necessary for me. It also feels a lot heavier than my old HP mouse so hopefully Ill get used to that. Makes it feel like I really have to push it around the mouse pad which I dont really like. The track wheel also is a lot stiffer than some others that Ive had. The cable is nice and long so no issues there. The price was reasonable so overall, Ill try to get used to it, only because I hate returning things online.

> 3 dayThis product confuses me. It feels accurate, its just the right weight and it has that wonderful ambidextrous design that cups my hand in just the right way. So, why is the lift-off distance so high? At first, I didnt know this was a problem but whenever I lifted my mouse I just could never lift it high enough and the cursor/crosshair would move. You possibly could get used to it, but ultimately this just shouldnt be a problem in the first place. Theres this tape trick you could do, but why even fiddle with trying to make this product work correctly whenever you can buy a mouse that doesnt have such a high LOD.

> 3 dayI used a Rival 300 for around 3 years before buying this one, Its a upgrade on the sensor and you have more options in the Steelseries driver. The only complaint I can make is I have very large hands and I palm grip my mice so its not quite big enough for me, but the price and the quality over all make it a great buy.

Greater than one weekI was impatient at the time of the order, I was short on change so I couldn’t get the rival 310 instead. But this is a nice mouse and works amazingly and has customizable lighting as well! Would recommend

06-06-2025This thing is astonishingly terrible. Misses inputs constantly. Sometimes Ill left click and it wont detect anything. Sometimes Ill click on the scroll wheel and it wont detect anything. Its so incredibly on-and-off I didnt know if my mouse was just defective or if this thing is simply that bad. There are better budget mouses out there, or ones that at least work as theyre intended.
