Sub-Zero Air Purification Cartridge-7042798

Because of the negative reviews of the filter we decided to order directly from Sub-Zero. When we opened the package we were disappointed. There was grit all over the filter and you could hear noise when the filter was moved, suggesting broken parts inside. It really looked like someone had returned it after laying in the gutter. When we called Sub-Zero to return it, the helpful customer service representative told us that (1) the dirt was simply production dust which we should be able to simply wipe off; and (2) there were balls inside the filter so it should make noise when moved. She added that she took at least two calls a day on this very issue and mentioned that the packaging left a lot to be desired. The dirt did come right off and, once installed, the filter seems to be working fine.

The item arrived on time but it was damaged, probably due to the poor packaging. When I opened the box, tiny shards of glass were falling out of the cartridge. I read a lot of product reviews before ordering it. I clearly understood that if you gently shake the cartridge, its normal to hear a (broken) rattling sound. I can’t believe tiny pieces of glass falling out into your hands is normal. I don’t think the product itself was inferior, but the packaging was definately inadequate, allowing damage to occur.

Easy to install and compatible with the refrigerator.

Open seal, box opened, dirty filter, glass in box. Paid full price for a new cartridge, got a dirty, used one. Contains mercury & it’s got particles inside the box!!! Dishonest business practice! Do NOT buy!!!!! Go through the manufacturer directly.

The 648 PRO G does not use an air freshener.

Easy to install. I change both filters out once a year. Hopefully that’s correct!

Ordered twice. Both times product arrived broken, covered in tiny pieces of glass.

This Subzero air purification cartridge has to be replaced once a year. It actually works, as I found veggies like romaine lettuce last much longer in the Subzero than they did in my Samsung -- sometimes theyre still fresh 2-3 weeks after purchase, which is just amazing. I was happy to receive an actual Subzero-branded cartridge for a price maybe 15% less than the distributor I usually order from, with the usual Prime free shipping. I wont hesitate to re-order next year.

This is the manufacturers item. It works best. Don’t use the copy cats. They are inferior and could possibly void the warranty.
