Greater than one weekUsed the bulbs in an outdoor fixture to replace a regular LED bulb. Nice not to have to worry to flip the switch on/off twice a day. Brightness and look were great. Unfortunately after the first rainstorm water must have leaked in at the base (afterwards could see condensation on the inside). The bulb stopped working. No problem, I have spare (pack of 2). Well yes, still a problem. After the next rainstorm the same thing happened to the other bulb. Bummer. Switched to different bulb and no problems after multiple storms. Great bulb but just wish the seal was better, so best to use where there is no chance of water getting in contact.

> 3 dayI put two of them in outdoor sconces that are on the front of our house. They work well and look so much better than most dusk to dawn bulbs. I havent had them long so I dont know how they will last, but Im happy with my purchase so far.

> 3 dayWorked without a glitch i have them out side over my built-in grills hanging inside two pendant typw lamps they work great and it adds extra security in what would otherwise be a dark enclosed patio. Buy them you wont be disappointed.

04-06-2025I was looking for a piece to modify outside fixtures to dusk to dawn as adjusting the timer was a pain. I stumbled on these and decided to give them a try. They work amazingly well. I love that they even come on for gloomy rainy days. The bulbs look very much like the expensive Edison bulbs. Quite attractive.

Greater than one weekReplaced door and post light bulbs with these. Nice old timey look and warm even light. Dusk to Dawn feature is a plus, door lights are ~7 feet apart and they do not affect each other.

> 3 dayWhen installing these bulbs two of the ten did not work correctly. I contacted manufacturer directly and they sent two replacement bulbs immediately. Their communication was excellent. The bulbs themselves fit great in our new outdoor lights and promptly turn on at dusk and off at first light every day. So nice!

They come on at dusk and go off at dawn and are far more reliable than the old photocell lights I just replaced. Dont believe the hype about how long they will last though - that is for 3 hour daily use but they should still last significantly longer than other light bulbs.

Greater than one weekGreat price for these bulbs. We have 2 outdoor lights about 4 feet away from each other, both with these bulbs, and one comes on about 1/2 hour before the other, so there is some variation in the sensors, but they both work great. Also - they are super bright.

What is a Dusk to Dawn Sensor?
Sunco Dusk to Dawn lights improve your outdoor security and provide bright light with the convenience of automated night lighting. Our D2D bulbs turn on when the sun sets and automatically turn off when light is detected. Just switch it on to power the LED and let the included sensor do all the work. No timer is needed. Automated lighting helps create the illusion your house is occupied, even when it is not. These clever lights activate on their own so you can run a last minute errand after work and still have exterior lights on when you return after dark.
Why does my Dusk to Dawn light flash on/off?
Sometimes reflective surfaces can fool a Dusk to Dawn sensor into thinking there is sufficient light available, so the light turns itself off. It then registers no light detected and turns itself back on. This continues in a loop of off/on/off/on so that the light can appear to be strobing or flashing.
Consider these potential solutions: 1. Point lights away from one another so their beams to do not strike the D2D sensor in nearby light fixtures, 2. Use a dual bulb fixture with bulbs pointing in different directions, 3. Move a light fixture above a garage window or away from a doorway window will reduce the chances a reflective surface might mimic a light source and fool the D2D sensor.
Do I need a timer to set the Dusk to Dawn feature?
No, there is no timer needed for Dusk to Dawn bulbs. Flip on the light switch and the included Dusk to Dawn Sensor does all the work for you. It turns on when light is absent and off again when light is detected.
What does Wet Rated mean & why is it important?
The terms Wet Rated in our product descriptions and technical specifications refer to moisture ratings. Safety should be the main focus when you choose wet rated light bulbs. Since water is a conductor you want to eliminate accidental electrocution to protect the people who install and use light fixtures, including your family, visitors, and clients. Using Wet Rated light bulbs is appropriate for wet areas where dripping water, rain, or other liquid that could flow or splash against your light fixture or LED bulb. Sunco indicates the moisture rating in our technical specifications so you know our products meet set standards. Wet areas are not just exterior locations (though you can only use Dusk to Dawn bulbs outside). Use Wet Rated light bulbs in kitchens and bathrooms in select safety zones. Established safety zones identify areas that might be susceptible to exposure to water, such as near a bathtub or sink faucet.
