> 3 dayTHIS was the film that got Sir Sean Connery to give up on-screen acting for the rest of his life. From 2003 onward, he did only voiceover roles.

> 3 dayThe League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is really an extraordinary superhero movie although these heroes arent from comic books but the books of great literature. A hunter, a scientist, a vampire, an invisible man, an immortal, a spy, and a beast -- the imndomitable Alan Quatermain from of H. Rider Haggards 1885 novel King Solomons Mines; Mina Harker from Bram Strokers immortal vampire book Dracula; Captain Nemo from Jules Vernes 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea; the sleek and sinister Dorian Gray from Oscar Wildes the Picture of Dorian Gray; Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde comes from Robert Louis Stevensons short novel Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; a grown-up Tom Sawyer, called Agent Sawyer, from Mark Twains various novels; and the thief Rodney Skinner standing in for H. G. Wells Invisible Man-- are all treated as real people who lived, worked, fought, and even died around the turn of twentieth century and that all of the adventures written about them werent fiction, but just the events that made up the days of their lives. And here they fight a villainous master-mind who is trying to start a world war just to make profits for himself. I dont know why, but at first, I did not not like this movie. But then I watched it again for a second time and found that despite a certain grimness to the sets that represent 19th century London and Paris, this is a great action/adventure film to rival any James Bond or X-Man movie. It was the kind of a movie that made wished I had read the books all of those heroes-- and the surprise villain-- came from. I think that in spite of the violence, and there is a lot of it, this might be a very good movie for parents to watch with their older kids and point out to them that the great works of literature can be just as exciting as any comic book or video game and get them started on reading just for the pleasure of reading.

> 3 dayI absolutely never get tired of this movie with Sean Connery! Fiction book characters brought together as heroes to thwart the evil trying to start war and domination.

Greater than one weekSlow getting started, I loved the characters but the character development rushed. I watched to get entertainment not serious storyline and that it did provide. All the Quartermane movies every actor has been B rated pulp science fiction. This stayed in that tradition

> 3 dayI absolutely love this movie. I have watched it many times. I love westerns, l watched with my dad as a child and l love sci-fi. Where can you see a Vampire, Capt. Nemo, Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, the Invisible Man and Allan Quatramain who is played by Sean Connery who happen to work together to fight evil Dr. Moriarty in one movie. Well this movie gets a high adventure star from me.

> 3 dayHeard about this movie before going on a sabbatical. Is it the greatest movie? No. However it is good fun and shows literary characters from the 19th century in an interesting way. Based on the Alan Moore graphic novel, it takes a different approach to the hero team-up that saves the day.
