> 3 dayI absolutely never get tired of this movie with Sean Connery! Fiction book characters brought together as heroes to thwart the evil trying to start war and domination.

> 3 dayHave watched it multiple times. Love the concept and seeing otherwise unrelated literary characters together in one movie. It does seem somewhat labored in places, but I don’t remember perceiving it that way the first time I watched it.

> 3 dayI think this was Sean Connerys last movie and it was done very well. The characters are laid out well, but you need to understand some classic literature to understand where they are coming from, so read up. However, the storyline flows well and I would recommend sitting down for an evening and watching this.

> 3 dayThis movie is one of my favorites! Im surprised it does so bad on rotten tomatoes. Its may be a bit hard to follow if you dont know any of the characters, but they are from classic novels so its pretty common knowledge and explained for those who dont know them. The characters are dynamic and the fight scenes are awesome, especially near the end. I bought it to show my friends who hadnt ever heard of it and they absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend it.

> 3 daySean Connery truly shines as an older Allan Quartermain. Ive loved all of Haggards characters for years, and I found no fault with his character. I know some purists have a thing about vampires in the daylight, but let me remind you forgetful individuals: BRAM STOKER WROTE ABOUT VAMPIRES IN THE DAYLIGHT!!!! Jonathan Harker sees Count Dracula in braod daylight (well, it WAS London, maybe not so broad). Anyone raised on Disneys 20,000 Leagues movie was probably a bit confused by the appearance of the Nautilus, but this design is probably far more in keeping with the time period than the Disney design. I never was a big fan of Mr. Hyde, or of The Invisible Man, so Ill not comment on them, except that I found Hydes characterization interesting. I thought Dorian Gray was well done, if not perfect. That leaves Moriarty. Doyles madman would certainly have been capable of the plots of this man, but I believe that he would have been far more subtle, and I dont think he would have given Dorians picture back. It would have been just TOO intriguing for him. The only disappointment I had in the DVD was the lack of the ending that I saw in the theaters, where Quartermains hand rises from his grave to grip the rifle. DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER THAT???? Sometimes I think Im going crazy.

> 3 dayI am not going to even to try to encapsulate this movie, let’s just say watch it. don’t try to get deep into the meaning of this movie, just have an extra-large bag of popcorn, and a soda pop. Let you mind go numb and enjoy. It’s as simple as that.

> 3 dayA fun movie thats even better when its free on Prime, with literary characters posing as an 1800s version of The Avengers. The plot is predictable, but enjoyable since all or most of the characters are directly from from literature of that time with the Invisible Man, Allan Quartermain, Dr. Jekyl transforming into a pre-Hulk Mr. Hyde, Mina Harker being the female vampire character, the immortal Dorian Gray, Captain Nemo with his Nautilus, and you get the drift. A light souffle at best.
