Greater than one weekthis Open and closes easily without wanting to close on its own which is nice. the catch used for opening and closing has a plastic cover to hold so even my 5yr can do it without pinched fingers, which means there are able to use it without much help from me. the plastic is durable and makes a nice, rounded shape when open but closes down to the size of other flatter umbrellas.

> 3 dayOur six year old had an opportunity to try this out shortly after it arrived, and to our surprise we saw that some of his classmates had the exact same umbrella. Great minds think alike, right? This is an excellent umbrella for youngsters, with thoughtful features through. The addition of round plastic knobs covering up any potentially pointy bits was a clever addition to prevent accidental injuries from carelessness of horseplay. It’s also quite sturdy when deployed, so it’s unlike to fold inside out like some umbrellas do in heavy winds. Because it’s made of thick plastic rather than fabric, it holds up fine under the heaviest downpours (including standing directly under one of our gutter spouts…), though as a result it is loud under the dome of the umbrella. The only feature our little one struggles with is the top spring and runner used to open/close the umbrella. It takes a tiny bit of muscle and manual dexterity to open the umbrella, and he’s a bit nervous about it springing closed suddenly when he tried to close it himself. That said, this top spring and runner system isn’t a deal-breaker by any means. This is a perfectly functional umbrella for youngsters… though it’s proven big enough for the adults in our household on a couple of occasions, too!

> 3 dayI got this for my four year old, I love the dome shape so she is less likely to know stuff over or poke out eyes. The snap together strap to hold it closed works well. To open the white piece slides up until it goes over a spring piece that pops out and hold it in place. To release you have to push up and push the piece back in, my four year old has some trouble with this but is getting the hang of it. It is very cute and does a good job keeping my child entertained and dry, well her head is dry.

> 3 dayI love see-through umbrellas because they don’t impair your view of traffic. That can be very important for kids. It’s a nice size for toddlers and kids, maybe preteens too. It opens and closes pretty easily and seems well-made. Nice buy! My four-year-old son loves taking it for rain walks and I’m a little jealous…

> 3 dayThis year we had showers on Halloween. My daughter had her beloved unicorn outfit and didn’t want to hide it under and umbrella. Luckily I had gotten this umbrella a few days earlier and that saved us from a total break down! She used it only because the umbrella was not covering the beauty of her costume (since it is see through). It opens and closes easily and seem durable. Very nice umbrella
