> 3 dayExcited to try out the Thule Chasm 26L. It was listed as good for bicycling, so I figured it would be good for use on a motorcycle as well. It is a great option for this, didnt flop around while on the road. The straps made it easy to wear it snug- it would have been nice to have somewhere to tuck away the excess strap after cinching it. Pros: Stitching looks durable All smaller/ organizational pockets are micro-fiber lined 3 Pen pockets are full-sized (a bigger deal than youd think-- you can fit an Apple pencil in this! Quick access pocket is just the right size, not too big to lose items but not too small to render useless An elevated laptop sleeve keeps a laptop from getting damaged if the bag is set down too hard on its bottom Cons Only 3 admin pockets in the front compartment 2smaller slip pockets and one larger Bottom of the bag collapse to easily which prevents the bag from standing upright while loading or unloading the bag The only way to set the bag down without it falling over is to set it on its side after removing your water bottle The base of the bag has weather-resistant material that doesnt feel durable enough Overall I like this bag a lot (FAR more than the similar Osprey bags I tried) and will continue to use it.

Greater than one weekThis is seriously the nicest backpack I have ever owned. You pay for what you get: solid construction, durability, great fabrics and materials, strong zippers, roominess, and pockets. The straps I would say are more durable than soft. They are still comfortable. If youre looking for a strong hiking/traveling pack, this is definitely worth it!

Greater than one weekI will admit Im a bit of a Thule fan girl. I really like their products and dont mind the premium price for premium goods. This backpack is good in the construction. I would like more padding on the shoulder straps. For some reason this backpack feels like it pulls back and down, I dont know if its a problem anyone else would have or my narrow shoulders but it feels somewhat awkward. there is a thin strap in front with a closure that gives an added feel of security. The construction of the pack is top notch and their is ample storage.

> 3 dayLove it overall. Hoping zippers glide better after using it for a while. Doesn’t hold as much as i was hoping but great for big laptop. Love the orange color. Plenty of space for tech stuff. Also. All zippers can line up so u can put just one lock through and secure all the compartments with one lock. Cool for traveling. I have two matching orange duffel bags that also turn into back pack that are also great.

> 3 dayThe Thule Chasm Backpack is similar to our old Thule backpack with some nice new touches. Our child is still using that one after eight years, so we have no complaints. It’s lasted through a bachelor’s degree and they’re nearly done with a PhD. Thule produces quality products that we expect to last. This bag looks built for that, too. It has plenty of pockets for different purposes. Small ones for those little things that need a place and deep ones for the larger items. The laptop slot on the side is big enough for any 15” or smaller with ease. It’s well padded and will still have room for whatever else you want to carry. Nice mesh pockets in two places, pencil/pen slots, a clip for your keys,a massive outside pocket for your drink container or umbrella (or possibly both). They’ve also added little slots for the excess straps to slide inside so that they stay out of the way. The bag is big enough to pack your laptop and clothes for a weekend but lightweight when empty. So, yeah, we like Thule. I’m glad that this bag compares favorably to the old one and confirms what we already believe about them.

> 3 dayLove the shape of this backpack however after cutting out the laptop padded divider that should have been designed with Velcro for easy removal I am semi disgusted and happy with it at thy same time. With removing the padded divider I can now fit enough clothing, toiletries, charging cords etc for a two night stay for a short vacation. The blue exterior fabric is semi hard and would have to be really packed full for it to keep its form. The corners of seams tend to push inward versus outward and for $160, this is not acceptable from a name like Thule. The straps for a muscular man that’s 5’8, 180lbs it fits good, feels good carrying. The top zipper pouch I enjoy having on a backpack to get things I use often like mints, Bose earbuds, etc so although I do love the backpack I’m disappointed Thule didn’t design ahead putting Velcro on the divider. (Update after trip) I upgraded from 3 to 5 stars because this bag is a perfect fit for a 2-3 night trip maybe 5. I am 5’8, 170, medium muscular build size 31 waist. The bag fit perfectly resting at the top of my glutes and the straps curved perfectly around my body. With the chest piece connected the weight was distributed perfectly. In Las Vegas the airports are huge with a lot of walking and hanging out for ur flight. I found the side handle top handle top pouch to be perfect for getting in and out to get what I needed. I wish the top pouch was hard with an inner hard bottom versus the net as I was worried something would compress against my iPhone which was in there without a case as I don’t use a case so just my wish and I did have to cut out the laptop divider but I fit 4 athletic men’s medium shorts, 4 medium under shorts, 3 socks, 5 tshirts, my toiletries charging cables extra small things in zip lock bags 5 sandwich size bags and a ball cap I still could’ve put a pair of shoes. The bag if not over loaded will fit in the spirit free carrying personal bag. If over packed it will not fit. I found the zippers hard to open one handed. I needed a finger loop near the top zipper pouch to hold on to as I had to pinch the top of the bag just to unzip. One handed was challenging. Overall Thule has horrible customer service but they do make excellent backpacks I’d love to see this bag improved with a Velcro pull out laptop divider as I cut mine out for more room. I found three dudes behind me speaking Spanish trying to pronounce Thule was fun to hear. Excellent design minus a few needed tweaks.

> 3 dayReally well designed and solidly constructed. High quality materials. Looks great. Excellent weight distribution. In some backpacks items just fall to the bottom making it awkward to carry on your bag. Comfortable to wear. Perfect layout of pockets and compartments. Keeps its shape regardless of what you put in it. Love the laptop accessibility from the side, and also the side handle, which actually works well because the backpack keeps its shape pretty much regardless of how its handled. My only slight complaint is that a laptop can bounce back and forth while you walk if thats all you have in the pack. Solved pretty simply by stuffing another small item in there.

Greater than one weekTrue to their name, Thule made a very durable backpack which is great for rainy days. * Design * There outer material feels durable and its water resistance. There is a comfortable vertical handle to carry the bag which is a nice feature if you want to carry it by hand or remove it from the overhead bins when air travelling. The straps design means that the bag sits slightly higher then the shoulder line (which might help with easing back pressure). the bag is long and narrow so it wont fit bulky stuff inside. The straps are nice and wide and there is a chest strap. I didnt particularly liked that the main compartment opening is limited by the zipper going only half way (and thats only on one side, the other side is even shorter) There are three main compartments: 1. A small one to keep small stuff like phones (even an iPad mini could fit there). Its soft and will keep your screen safe 2. Mid compartment to keep all kind of stuff in organized pockets and a hook for keys. 3. Main comportment divide to two, one for a laptop (which could also be quick access from a side zipper) and various other larger items that you couldnt fit in the mid section * Functionality * The lack of a lower strap, for me, means that its not very suitable for longer hikes. It will be great for shorter hikes, specially when its wet outside or urban/work travel when its rainy to keep my laptop safe from the elements. Overall Its pretty comfortable on the back when its was about 75% loaded but, again, the long narrow design means that its difficult to put bulky items inside or else easily reach the bottom of the main comportment. Overall Its a great bag for urban and commute and itll keep you valuables safe. Made by Thule means its going to be one durable backpack that will last for quite a while.
