Upgraded the ram in my MacBook pro and it works perfectly

Ive got a mid-2012 15 MacBook pro that was supposedly maxed at 8GB (with two 4GB chips) and it was just choking - constant pinwheels / beachballs, apps taking several minutes to load, computer taking over 5 minutes to boot, and less than 100MB of available RAM at any moment. According to Apple, you cant take this machine above 8GB, but I was curious and spent some time on some message boards, and was pleasantly surprised that a lot of people were saying that in spite of what Apple says, you can totally upgrade these to 16GB. A link to these chips was in one of these threads and I took the chance, and its like having a new computer. Everything is stable now, apps load as they should, I can have twice as many apps open as I could before - and while Im writing this, I still have almost 6GB of RAM free! Super easy to install as well - took five minutes max. If youve got the same machine as mine, dont hesitate to buy this. Probably the best $100 Ive ever spent, and thats not hyperbole. Great seller as well, arrived quickly and safely in a padded hard-plastic case.

I have a 2012 MacBook that was running slower than molasses. It was causing issues in getting my school work done. I had a tech guy come take a look at it and he recommend swapping my old one for this model. Wow! It works so much faster. No more spinning beach balls of death. Cheap and easy to install

Did not work with my old mid 2011 MacBook Pro cos I cant upgrade my software to new one.

Works well in my MacBook Pro 13” mid 2012. Originally, my system would not allow me to access any desktop menus with the new memory but I figured out that the problem was temperature related. When I moved my notebook to an air conditioned room all the menus became accessible and the system became fast. Disk utility displayed 16GB memory! Check.
