> 24 hourI upgraded my Mac Pro (A1481) from the 256GB to this one. The drive fit great. But the upgrade took a while. But thats not Timetec’s issue. After the upgrade its great to now see so much space available. Before the OS took up most of the drive. I havent done a speed test. But this brand seemed about same speed as some of the others… and this one was less expensive

> 24 hourIt took a of searching on the Internet to finally make it work. I wanted to do a clean install on a fresh new SSD. I am very happy that Apple made this possible without even a USB boot drive. Everywhere I search all told me to use Command+R to load the original OS (Sierra for my Macbook), or Command+Alt+R to load the latest OS (Monterey at this writing). The first time when I did this, my Macbook could not detect the SSD with either method. I quickly returned and got a replacement (Thank you Amazon). On the second SSD, My Macbook was still unable to detect it with the Command+R method. When I tried the Command+Option+R method, it detected it! Except it still would not install until I used the Disk Utility to create a partition. All is good now? Not quite. The install utility complained there was no Internet connection. And it did not give me the option to connect to my WIFI. The Macbook does not have an Ethernet port. What now? Lucky for me, I just happened to have RJ45 to USB A Ethernet adapter. About 1.5 hours later, the Monterey OS was fully installed. Overall, I am quite happy with this.

> 24 hourThe ssd is fast and works perfect. The computer recognized the ssd and booted fast the first time it was installed. The purchased was July 26 2022 and it died on me on February 15 2023. During 6 months the ssd worked as normal. Then suddenly I got a black screen and a folder with a question mark flashing at the middle of the screen. The ssd had fail to boot. Disk Utility cant see the ssd. I tried the ssd on another computer and also it doesnt show up. The ssd is dead. I recommend you do a daily backup when using this ssd.

> 24 hourMUST create and startup (using option key) from a boot-able macOS USB installer (eg:High Sierra). Otherwise diskutil or terminal will not see the pcie nvme ssd. Will not be seen if placed in ext caddy either. I installed 1TB PCIe NVMe in mac book pro 15inch mid 2014 using external USB bootable drive with High Sierra installer then when complete using CMD+Option+R, installed Big Sur from apple servers via internet. I thought ssd was defective and asked for return but now i dont need to exchange.

> 24 hourI spent days trying to get this SSD to work in my 2015 MacBook Air. I was finally able to upgrade the laptop to OS High Sierra and then it was recognized in my external housing. I formatted the drive and re-installed everything. Its finally working. I had the same problems with the other one installing it in my 2013 Mac Pro. I formatted the SSD with two partitions and installed the OS on one partition, rebooted and the Mac Pro started up using the new partition on the internal drive. I then formatted the second partition and installed an OS on it. Everything seemed to work fine until I tried to restart. This time I got the flashing folder with the question mark indicating that there was no OS on the disk. Now the Mac Pro wont recognize the SSD, even in the external housing. So one is working (for now). The other has failed. At this point, I give up.

> 24 hourI am an EE/COMP Engineer so it was trivial to install this. However, the extra memory was not recognized when my computer rebooted. I realized that my battery had likely died before I did the install and I needed to perform a *full* cold reboot. I also reset my PRAM (probably unnecessary). This resets some of the parameters of your Mac if there are some issues or corruption. It is done during a cold boot up cycle via CMD-OPTION-P-R (four keys held simultaneously during the initial boot sequence). In any case, the MacBook Pro (Early 2011) recognized it as a full 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) when it came back up. Note that Apple officially only recognizes 8 GB in this model, but that was because when they last tested it the newer modules were likely not available. To utilize larger memory, designers have to make accommodations to support additional memory module address lines. Each additional address line doubles the supported memory. Fortunately, the Mac hardware designers did the the right thing and added the necessary address line support so we could utilize the larger memory sizes. Hope this helps someone and thanks for reading.

> 24 hourUPDATE (October 4th, 2018): Although I was probably unlucky and received a bad module, I would be happy to purchase from Timetec again as they do honor their lifetime guarantee and their customer service is top notch (they deserve 5 stars but I am still giving the product 3 as mine was defective and couldnt really test it long term. During the 12 days it did work my computer felt brand new). After my module started failing I got in touch with them (couldnt return through Amazon because I live abroad and wouldnt make meet the 30-day return window). They took a bit to reply but when they did they immediately offered to send a new module first and then I could return the defective one or simply return the defective one for a refund. Unfortunately, because I live abroad a replacement was harder to arrange, so they told me that as soon as I had someone traveling to the US I could request a label and return it, which I did and received the refund immediately. I really appreciate the constant communication from the team. Thank you! Original review from July 13th, 2018 I had previously upgraded my Early 2011 MacBook Pro (13 inch) from 4GB to 8GB and it was working fine, but after a few years I figured it was time to upgrade to 16GB. Installed it on June 30th and it worked fine for the first 12 days. Last night my computer started lagging, but thought it was just a temporary issue as I was using multiple programs. I would not have suspected RAM, except for the fact that I decided to reboot the computer and now it is beeping during start up. Switched back to my old ram and no more beeps. I chose this brand instead of the previous one because a very high percentage of reviews for this product were positive, and it was listed a compatible with my computer. Unfortunately the product didnt work. The worse part is that I lost several files in the process.

> 24 hourI purchased this set for a MID 2010 27 IMAC with i7 2.93 ghz processor. If you check Apples website, it will tell you that these iMacs are upgradeable to only 16GB Ram (4GBx4slots) But an extensive research I have done shown me that 27 iMac (Mid 2010) models with the i7 processor can actually work with 32gb Ram (8GBx4slots) instead of 16gb. So I decided to get this set 8gbx4 as it was matching all the other requirements of Apple. The rams were recognized by the system as soon as I turned on the computer, and they did make a big difference, upgrading from 8gb to 32 GB. I do stock trading so I have several apps open at the same time, such as discord, TDA Think or Swim, Webull, Youtube and more, all at the same time and the rams handle all that with absolutely no problem. It has been almost a week, but so far, I am very happy. I also exchanged the HD withSAMSUNG 870 EVO 250GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-77E250B/AM) and together with the ram update, they are working miracles.
