I actually prefer a different brand of filter that doesnt require this type of filter cartridge, but I still have one little 10 gallon tank that requires this kind of filter. These cost a little bit more than Id like to pay for three replacement filters, but they do the job they are expected to do. Changing them takes less than a minute, just make sure you have something like a bag or a garbage can at hand for the used filter.

These work well and seem to last at least as long as the ones that came with my fish tank pump

They dont last as long as advertised. I have 15 small guppies and the filter only lasts 2 weeks before the water starts to get cloudy.
