This is a really good umbrella. I use nothing but Totes.

I bought this umbrella to use on a trip out of the country (I bought it a month before our trip). It broke (would not stay open) upon our first use, but I got back after the window to return was over. I do not recommend this umbrella

I know Im middle aged because I feel the need to have one umbrella in my car, one in my office, and one in my house. All of mine are totes brand and they all work well. I love that theyre portable, and I REALLY love the auto close! All umbrellas these days are auto open - but auto close is key for when youre slithering into your car and trying to keep the umbrella open until the last possible second. Love auto close. In the end I gave this model 4 stars instead of 5 because it feels flimsy. It hasnt broken or turned inside out, but it lacks a bit of heft as compared to other models.

This is a light weight umbrella in a cheerful pattern. If you are used to a golf umbrella you are going to find that it doesnt cover much. So not for gusty storms. Instead this is the sort of umbrella Id purchase to give our teens. Functional and small enough to fit in the pocket of their backpacks. Not so good that Id be miffed if they lost it at school. I havent given it to one of them though because Ive been using it. Weve had rain intermittently for days now and Ive found it useful going in and out of the car on my mom-errands. Contruction-wise its not a superior product. Just okay. And while everything works mechanically, my major displeasure with it is that its difficult to wrangle the Velcro closure shut. I do like that there is a Velcro closure instead of a snap, but they should have given us another quarter inch of fabric as its struggle. To that end I wouldnt suggest it for anyone with weak fingers or arthritis.

How many of you have about 20 umbrellas, but you cant find any when you need them? Seriously ... they have to be stored with the missing socks. the great thing about this umbrella, is that it also offers a SPF 50 sun shield. After seriously burning at a high school graduation, I wish I would have already had this. Its going in the trunk of my car for both rainy and sun days, so I wont be stuck without it. Now - just bring on the rainy weather!

The fixture that I like the most in this Totes umbrella is the auto open and close. It it extremely easy to operate with just one button, works great. It size is perfect to save it in my car door for when I need it. I have used it in pretty windy days and it has been holding fine. Colors are vibrant. Update: Ive been using this umbrella for about 2 years now. Auto open/close still works with no problems. A little piece of the canopy got detached from the rest of the umbrella on a really windy day but the rest is still holding up.
