totes Titan Compact Travel Umbrella, Windproof, Water Repellent Auto Open/Close , Black

Got this to replace another umbrella that was supposedly designed to withstand gusty winds. This Totes umbrella is much better even though its not vented because it uses fairly thick metal ribs instead of the plastic ribs on the Gustbuster. The metal ribs seem to be flexible enough to take the wind, but wont snap like the plastic ribs. Obviously not for hurricane-force winds, but is great for breezy rainstorms.

Compact and very sturdy. The open and close mechanism has been flawless.

Would give it 5 stars but its a little longer (collapsed) than expected and doesnt fit easily in my computer bag. Very sturdy - noticeably weightier than my previous.

Why only 3 stars? Its the last mile on this umbrella, the high impact pastic rods typical of all Totes to flecks the canopy, they get broken easily. I also regret not getting a vented model+,

This is a well built umbrella. Has stood up well so far (2 winters).

Great little Umbrella. Compact easy to store in the car. Seems fairly robust or at least robust enough for California rain

It is strong enough that can bear most wind in daily life. The auto open and close unit is smooth. I give four star because I dont appreciate the so-called life-long warranty of totes. You should pay additional fee for warranty and cannot get warranty in store.

KEEPS ME DRY AND SCARES RAIN AWAY. EVEN WORKS IN EXCESSIVE WIND CONDITIONS. IT BE LIT PEOPLE.

I can get a better umbrella for that price.
